| Record collectors/lovers on 17:02 - Jun 3 with 1217 views | BlueNomad | I haven’t bought vinyl for years and gave away everything as I replaced them with CDs. The only album I kept was Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Street Survivors which I bought on the day it came out. The inner sleeve had the dates of their US tour, cut short a couple of days later by their fatal aircrash. The cover was immediately withdrawn. I checked a few years ago and was quoted £100., | | | |

Just a band I love. The greatest British band of the last 30 years. Criminally underrated. New album 388 is amazing. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| Record collectors/lovers on 00:26 - Jun 4 with 694 views | Churchman | I have about 200 vinyl albums. They’ve not been even looked at in about 30 years. I doubt they’re worth anything as they were all played, but they are boxed and do no harm and given I have next to nothing from my yoof, I’ll keep them. Prized ones? The first two. Genesis and Pink Floyd. After that Yellow Brick Road and all the pre 1979 Quo albums. Memories of another time. | | | |

I'd imagine you have plenty that are worth a few quid. Played lots or not in pristine condition doesn't matter as long as it still plays well and is well looked after. As a rule greatest hits and compilations are pretty worthless. Likewise albums that sold loads, even if the album is excellent. But any good album that didn't sell squillions will be worth a few quid. And the pre 79 quo albums are gold regardless of price.

Thanks. I don’t have any compilations bar Quadrophenia (also have the Who version that pre dates it), but a lot of them were big sellers - Fleetwood Mac etc. there are some odd ones in there from Carole King through to Don McLean, to Bad Company and Deep Purple. The Quo albums go from Dog with Two Head to Whatever you Want - the last one was after Coghlan the drummer had gone and they were done. The double album Status Quo Live is probably the most played of all. It was recorded at the Apollo Glasgow in 1976 and I’d argue it’s the best live album ever made.
| Record collectors/lovers on 08:36 - Jun 4 with 473 views | Dubtractor | This is probably my most valuable record. French psych rock band, got it new for about 25 quid. The combination or it being a great record, beautifully packaged and quite rare all adds up. https://www.discogs.com/shop/i | |

| Record collectors/lovers on 08:51 - Jun 4 with 455 views | WeWereZombies | Caravan - In The Land Of Grey And Pink original UK vinyl release, Discogs has it down at a low of fourteen quid but the value doesn't matter to me, it's pure nostalgia for being sixteen years old and splashing out for a full price LP and then playing it to death. And still listening to it fifty five years on, but on YouTube now. | |

| Record collectors/lovers on 08:54 - Jun 4 with 450 views | Coastalblue | I think I've probably said this on here before, but when I got divorced and we were selling the house I had over 3000 pieces of vinyl, much of it back to my DJ'ing days. I quite literally couldn't give it away and ended up putting most of it in a skip. There was a load of old cr4p there, but in amongst it was some really nice stuff. I used to spend a fortune on American import 12" singles back in the 80's and had quite a good number of white label promos as well. I ended up keeping about 20 but just didn't have anywhere to put the others and they had to go. Among those kept was a collection of Streetsounds LP's. | |

Have copy of Joy Division/ Warsaw- At a Later Date on vinyl. Jut checked and valued and valued at £350-450. May cash it in as not had a way of playing vinyl for about 25 years. Also have a lot of grunge/Sub Pop on weird colour vinyl, Tad, Mudhoney, Superchunk, Nirvana etc Not sure of their value, but also have lots of the original cassettes recorded at early jungle/D& B nights from Roast and Desert Storm.

I just bought a decent hi-fi for the first time ever (I previously had various separates, 25-50 years old). My old vinyls sound utterly fabulous, so don't ditch them!
