I'm going saturday, sh1t play and rain allowing. Part of me would rather have the refund, being brutally honest.

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

Thing is it's a Test match and plenty of time for it to be far more enjoyable than the last hour has been.

Of course it could get worse too.

Not watched or listened to a ball as been out all day.

Has it been pitiful batting, good bowling, disruption with rain breaks or a combination of all?

It's a bit better now! England got done by the conditions and making inroads tonight is good with a better forecast tomorrow.

Yeah, i feel a bit bad now!

You should get a lively day tomorrow though I spose.

Years back, up in Leeds against the West Indies, I think we saw (bits of) 3 innings in one day.

I absolutely did not judge England's 140 before both teams had had a bat...

Oliie Robinson making some of the selections over the last couple of years look utterly ludicrous.

Why is it, that as soon as England get a team 8 or 9 wickets down, they abandon what has worked and start banging in half track bouncers? Infuriating.

Ohhhh hindsight!!

I think they may know how to get tailenders out more than you do, with all due respect!

Hindsight is all well and good if they clean up the tail using this strategy.

However, this system of getting to the tail and bowling bouncers hoping it goes to men on the boundary isn't a new thing. They've been trying it for nearly 5 years with very little success...

Edit:- And with that, full delivery straight to slip. If it was working against the batters it'll probably work against the tail...

Just got O'Rourke out and the description on the BBC text commentary says that he swung at a short ball and top edged it to mid-wicket.

Oh, hang on it actually says "pokes at a full delivery, barely moves his feet, and edges to Harry Brook at second slip." A tail ender barely moving his feet and edging a full delivery. Who'd have thunk it?

😀

"Ollie Robinson ditches the short ball plan and knocks Matt Henry's middle stump out the ground for his fifth wicket."

I for one, am shocked...

It isn't hindsight, England have done this for years with very little success or at least, the opposition have added 80 odd quick runs before finally holing out.

Bumrah and Shami a few years ago under Root was a particularly grating viewing experience.

England have got themselves into a decent position here, in spite of the head loss slightly this morning why do they think the short stuff is ever sensible. This is likely the best batting conditions we are going to get so they really need to take advantage.

Oliie Robinson making some of the selections over the last couple of years look utterly ludicrous.

Not really, he's always had the talent, thats why he got picked in the first place all those years back

It was the application of the talent, the consistency, the fitness during a match let alone a whole series, his bowling speeds always dropped after the first spellnd especially in less bowling friendly conditions that let him down and his seeming unwillingness to do anything about it, he was given chances, was given the support but thats why he got dropped

Its great he's got a 5 for, on the honours board at Lords, every cricketers dream.

Let's see how he does the rest of this test summer.

And if he has finally cracked it we can say not that those selectors got it wrong but lament a wasted talent instead, he's 32, 33 in December, probably the home Ashes series could be the last he plays as he won't get to 29/30 down under.

Indeed - even this innings he’s averaged something like 79mph with the ball, he’s barely had to bowl any overs and should be as fresh as he ever could be. Without a helpful wicket and on day five of a test having bowled 60 overs in a match, then we’ll see.
Currently the best replacement for Anderson and Woakes though, can get runs too.

Emilio Gay looks decent, already he appears to have more about his game than Crawley. He can play a nice cover drive like his predecessor, but more circumspect in his approach. An encouraging innings so far, hope he keeps going. It’s tough batting conditions.
