No I didn’t I had just logged on yesterday and was surprised there were no political threads on the first page,that is a rare occurrence these days on here.

I don't reply to Benters opening post even though I think it's pretty clear who he posted it.
How's is pointing out Belstead hypocrisy a problem? He's come back to the forum telling people what the posting rules should be, what the forum structure should be and laying into people in lots of threads.
He literally took a pop at other posters in his post as others have pointed out.
If you're all good with that then good stuff, from various threads it seems that many aren't.

Whilst there may be two sides to an argument, the implication that they are equivalent is at the core of everything that's wrong with debate nowadays.
"Stop the boats"
"Crossings are down 40%, see this report"
"I don't believe it"
Clearly those two sides aren't equivalent and the attempts to push them as equivalent is the real issue. That kind of debate is played out endless times with people who don't have any evidence to support their view then claim equivalence.
The false equivalence fallacy is one of the main reasons we are where we are as societies nowadays.
