What are you “increasingly likely” to do? 14:24 - Jun 9 with 866 viewsChris_ITFC

I’m “increasingly likely” to die tomorrow. How bad is your source if that is the only substance you can write?

I think the thing that does make it more likely now than the last time TalkSport reported is that other 'free agent' managers have ruled themselves out. While they were in play then they were probably more attractive than having to pay the big release fee and then a top whack wage to get McKenna.

Whether that's enough to tip the scales I don't know but does increase the probability IMO.

Would welcome a stewards enquiry on that assertion, you will be a day closer to death but is the likelihood of you dying tomorrow actually any higher than today?

Assuming you’re of a ‘normal’ age I would would assume any death is most likely to be caused by a freak event rather than something driven by age, and therefore neutral in terms of likelihood

Any medical boffins/science nerds/statisticians know?

Ah, interesting!

If I’m closer to it, is the day of destiny not more likely? “Increasingly” so, one might say.

Or do we wake up with a random daily change until we hit 60, say. I take your point!

Does the same apply to a manager in limbo, who (presumably) hasn’t even been offered anything yet?

If free agent managers have said no, it makes you wonder what are they hearing that they don't like about the Fulham job....... one for KM to ponder if he has been approached.

What you do in a day also makes a difference. If I went skydiving today, then I'd probably be less likely to die tomorrow when I post my usual inane drivel on TWTD.

According to uk sky diving statistics you're more likely to die on your drive to the skydive than you are during the actual sky dive itself!

TBF cars aren't designed to climb to 10,000ft. It's a very dangerous way of getting airborne.

That is, until flying cars become the norm, of course.

The day of destiny is closer but don’t think that means you’re statistically more likely to die on an actual day, at least not until you are getting a lot closer (presumably if you’re aged 100+ then your chances of dying on any given day will be higher than a 40 year old!). I could be wrong and chances do still increase marginally, just thinking aloud really

Obviously that assumes all days are equal - another poster has made a good point about what you do having a bearing (so if you’re wingsuit flying today and planning a rest day tomorrow then your chances of dying tomorrow will decrease!)

Having re-read the OP I think the literal interpretation would actually be that on both days, your chances of dying are 100%* in that you are guaranteed to eventually die!

*I guess there may technically be a statistically irrelevant 0.000000000000001% chance of medicine/science evolving to make eternal life possible

It's “increasingly likely” that I'm going to have to accept that, following my appearance playing on the Portman Road pitch last week that I'm not going to get a call from McKenna any time soon.
