| Is today's German game deadly for the players? 09:16 - Jun 14 with 2581 views | RIPbobby | Tonights 18:00 Germany match is surely dangerous for the players? Local time it will be a midday kickoff. That sounds crazy to me. Houston, Texas in the south is surely going to be dangerously hot. The old saying "only made dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun" must surely come into play. Why on earth should they be playing at this time? It is obviously dangerous for the crowd too if they are open to the elements. As much as it is fun having this football festival in USA, it is surely the wrong time of year to do this. | | | | |

| Is today's German game deadly for the players? on 13:53 - Jun 14 by RIPbobby | Sounds nice. I wonder how 'out of town' this venue is? Apparently the Boston venue is 40 minutes from Boston. lol. So my worry about fans is that they have to get there and have to get back from there too in tough conditions to be in direct sunlight which is much warmer. |
Are they all having to walk there then? Last I checked, all cars on Uber and Lyft and all public transportation in the US have pretty good air-con. You're making it sound like they are being taken on a death march. [Post edited 14 Jun 14:20]

| Is today's German game deadly for the players? on 14:06 - Jun 14 by GlasgowBlue | It's not like the NRG Stadium was purpose built for this World Cup and not tested. The stadium has hosted literally hundreds of matches since it opened in 2024. I would imagine the people who run the stadium know exactly what they are doing when it comes to temperature control and athlete well being. Some people, and you especially, seem to looking for any stick to try and beat this World Cup with. |
Don't sh1t your pants Donald!

It’s in town, you can even get the light rail there. I went in 2022, decent stadium. [Post edited 14 Jun 17:03]

| Is today's German game deadly for the players? on 14:18 - Jun 14 by redrickstuhaart | That's a pretty big change in playing conditions- no wind to consider. Has anyone been in one of these airconned stadiums? I struggle to get the powers that be to achieve a steady reasonable temperature in rooms at work, let alone a massive open area with a glass roof... |
It doesn’t have a glass roof.

They’re desperately trying but also rather clueless at the same time. People do enjoy living in misery or trying to find anything to fit their narrative. Just had some chap list a bunch of nations that have players in them from top leagues all over Europe and the world and equate it with league scoring league 2 football. That stadium has been open over 20 years BTW. [Post edited 14 Jun 17:02]

I drove through East Coast, South Coast and West Coast, 30+ States last June/July. Hot but I've been hotter in Rhodes and other European countries tbh. Did a lot of walking there as well. I was there for the Texas floods. We are not talking about a third world country. There is plenty of public transport and infrastructure. I won't be praying for those attending today's game in Houston.
