It's been a good evenings footy! There are no 'weak' teams in these tournaments anymore, most of the smaller footballing nations giving a really good account of themselves, and the energy, zip, and commitment is really something we seem to lack. Add former multiple champions Uruguay (& Italy from the qualifers) to Germany & the Dutch, as countries already out of the competition, while Cape Verde are still in contention! Notwithstanding the fact that scheduling plays its part, it's still a remarkable scenario for a World Cup. | |

I'm annoyed, I'd followed septic Pegs advise and backed them to win it. They are one of the few footballing nations who i think can empathise with us. Every tournament they expect, hope and go home disappointed like us |  |

I've always liked Oranje. They're not as cool now as they were with Bergkamp, Davids, Kluivert, Seedorf, de Boer, Stam etc though.
France '98 was the best. World Cups hit different when you're a kid though, or maybe it was just that era. I definitely can't get as into this World Cup as I have previous ones, I don't think the times help for us in UK. I want a naughty Columbia v Belgium at midday. |  | | |
