Awful again. Thing is, he's got quality and could easily smack one in from 30 yards, but you don't need players constantly losing the ball or making wrong decisions when you're up against it. |  |

A bit more composure from Gordon made the difference when he came on imo. Which is odd as you normally associate him with manic energy. We were desperate for someone to feed in those little balls to feet rather than taking pot shots that weren’t on or rushing crosses that didn’t go into the right areas.
I’m surprised we don’t try to play through Bellingham more. He’s obviously quality, but didn’t seem to impact the game tonight (caveat - I was only able to watch bits on a small screen and listened to the rest on the radio where his name was barely mentioned, so I could be misrepresenting his performance). |  |

I really don’t get why Rashford keeps making the squad. Admittedly I didn’t watch him at Barcelona but they ended up buying Gordon which sort of says it all.

To be honest, Rashford scored a very good goal against Croatia, but before and since then, he's had a poor world cup so far. Poor control, awful crossing, reluctant to take on his defender and very much seems to be playing within himself and without confidence. He created a decent chance for himself today by (for once) using his pace to get behind the defence, but the finish was awful.
If he gets on against Mexico, hopefully he'll make me eat my words. But I fear for him. | | | |
