That leaves no proper parties, plus Restore not standing.

VOTE BINFACE.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I was going to say we’re so far through the looking glass myself, but only such a metaphor can capture the utter lunacy of effectively having no PM, an incoming PM with absolutely no plan or strategy other than opening an office near his house, the meltdown of our economy, etc, etc. and the biggest story is a man with a dustbin on his head

You haven't listened to a word Burnham has said have you?

I think the point is that he will have next to no chance of winning, but is more likely to take votes from Binface than Farage.

Binface is not going to win. Not even get close, but he is likely to take a sizeable chunk of the votes. The more he can take, the better, as in a Binface vs Farage battle, Farage *is* the establishment he likes to bleat on about so much.

The guy should stand when there is a real by-election. Not during a political stunt.

Has Count Binface registered to stand ? From the BBC Breakfast clip that TonyBled started another thread with it sounds like the alien from Sigma 6 has yet to look for six residents of the Clacton constituency to sign him up. Perhaps even the comic creation character will stand aside to show that he is a more serious politician than Farage ? Which could leave teh field clear for a Martin Bell type candidate to oppose the man who would do anything for money.

Poll: To make him more acceptable what should Gary O'Neill change his middle name to ?

I both listened and then read in detail.

There are bound to be other candidates - Laurence Fox is standing, which should steal some of the far far-right votes from Farage

I think the publicity and media circus around the by-election will still encourage voters in the area who normally support the mainstream parties who aren't fielding candidates that voting for Binface will be the most effective protest vote.

That’s the way to play this. Make it an utter farce and ridicule Farage non-stop. He absolutely hates people taking the piss out of him and being dismissed as a joke.

Unsullied with brooms instead of spears.

"There is only one election that matters. The by-election, and it is here"

"The army of the easily led"

War of the Two Counts.

Recreate the scene where Stannis is asking Sam how he defeated one of them but with Binface and Burnham. "With a dagger made of lead from TG Jones" *holds up a pencil and ballot paper*.

Given enough time on AI I am convinced he could have the best promotional video of all time.

Whole thing is very puzzling

Man gets put under investigation
Man resigns so he thinks he can be given a new mandate from the people in a by election
everyone else can see this is a stunt, so distances themselves
man will probably get voted back in
investigation may end up against him anyway and a new by election may be required.

good people of clacton must hate this

I'm sorry, but they voted him in in the first place, so they get what they deserve. If they vote for him again, under these circumstances then they are even more dumb then I first thought.

27% of Clacton's registered voters at the last General Election voted for Farage, don't tarnish the other 73% with that misfortune please.
