particularly for a team playing on the break as well

£20m is a fair fee. Along with Hackney, one of the very few players I was interested in from the Championship this time.

Would be very pleased with this. Where would it leave McAteer though?

Young Ghanaian international with some PL experience so looks like a good signing. Just worried that he will go missing in matches particularly if we are struggling as he did for the Foxes.

I don't think we need a winger yet. We need workers and Kasey is perfect for what we need. Perhaps if we survive two years in the premier league then we can get more attacking. At this stage I'd have a lot of players in front of wingers on the transfer front.

I dont get this idea about prioritising positions. It doesn't work like that.

We need a right winger. Our options, Mcateer included are not good enough. If one you like is available you go and get them regardless of maybe needing other positions more.

As for getting more attacking in maybe 2 years. If you don't have players who carry the ball up the pitch it doesn't matter how good your defenders are.

Signings happen in the order in which players become available and negotiations are concluded. Our priorities do not dictate that.

Grab the decent ones while you can, they may not be on the conveyor belt next time it comes round.

I think he'll stay as he is a different type of player; McAteer & Wes Burns can both play the wing back role if/when set up that way, whereas Fatawu would be an out & out forward on the right side, whether in a 4-2-3-1, a 3-4-2-1 or 3ven a 4-3-3.
For me, he has far more quality in his play, while Wes & Kasey Mc are more pace, power & directness. It looks like curtains for Ogbene though & the new, buffer, Sindre W-E will move to the #10 or even #9 position.

I can see Kasey going to one of Derby, Cardiff or Bolton. No idea why but he needs to play every week and at a level he would be one of or the best player. He is a confidence player.

Whilst I kind of agree with what you say about buying players when available. I'd be much happier if we bought loads workhorses. Very much like argies starting midfield. Loads of small guys who ran their socks of and bent the rules as much as possible.

Remember Enzo getting especially cheesed off that night we best Chelsea 2-0 because we out battled them. Then took out chances when they were available. We did that very little at PR in that season.

Work rate is a given, anyone we sign must work their backside off, that would be where the data would say yes or no, before we get to a bid.

That sounds horrible.

I don't want Town to be anything like that dirty Argentinean team and I doubt I'm alone in that

But they aren't just workhorses. They are elite technical players as well, guys like Enzo Fernandez and Leo Paredes play/played at the top clubs in Europe. Won world cups.

You need players with X factor, players who can hurt teams. Mcateer and Burns might fit the workhorse category but they don't have X factor like Fatawu does, they dont carry the ball like he does or beat players like he does. You need players like that if you want to stay up. Not just runners.

IMO Kasey and Fatawu will be battling it out for the position and Wes will be an experienced bench option. Don't see Wes starting many games this season. If any.

Sometimes I think about the frothing lunatics I’ve put on ignore, who will have kept replying to me again and again, but I don’t even realise they exist.
