He was very average last time in the PL and he’s now two years older than when he first signed. We need and will recruit better. There was a reason he was shipped off on loan. Can’t see him playing for us again. |  | | |

Not sure why you would expect the rest of the squad to be willing to forgive his
misdeeds.
He will be off when we get an acceptable offer, so probably at the end of the window as the definition of that changes. |  |

I think it seemed fairly clear that under McKenna he was out of the picture completely (although even then he played a match after that came to light before he was loaned out). We were much better in the Premier League while he was playing for us than we were after he got injured. He scored 4 goals in 13 starts in a team that struggled to score.
However, I don't think he will be here next season. If he was to have been and was injury free I don't think he would be more than a squad player anyway. |  |

It wouldn't have just been the manager to have made that decision. If what McAteer's family have claimed on socials is true, he's very lucky to even still be playing. Of course, there's two sides to every story, and in any other job (like you and me have) you would be fired for what was alleged to have happened "in the workplace" as it were.
