The fact that he’s been going to Hull for a while and now at the last minute we’re going in for him makes me slightly worried that we’re in a panic.

I said before and I stand by it for now is that we don't have all the moving parts (hate that term) in place yet or aligned and it is now fairly obvious the recruitment is not where it needs to be, at this time.

We rose up the leagues so quickly we are trying catch up with ourselves which is a kind of a blessing and a curse.

Everyone has their opinions on our CEO and chairman, I don't think he is a PL operator but clearly he is an established EFL operator with massive successes, but that is where that begins and ends for me anyway.

Isn't that true of everyone though? We've done more than Hull or Coventry, I don't think there's any club in the PL that thinks they've finished their business yet.

Let's see what happens after the Sunderland game.

Based on the 'data' this lad from Burnley does have seem to have something going for him.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I have never heard of him or seen him play...

He is a ball winner. He has a great ability to get his leg in and nick the ball off players. Which is a useful skill.

He needs a good ball player next to him because whilst he is really good at one thing. He is pretty limited imo.

Idk if anyone else is sad enough to consume more fpl content than a grown man should but they all keep saying zcov are the best of the promoted teams. I hope we prove them wrong because its getting annoying.

They were the best team last year, doesn't follow they will be this but its certainly the medias narrative isnt it

Maybe it's not the Cov fans that are deluded?

Last season, Town struggled for goals but did just enough, where as Coventry played free flowing football with goals galore and finished miles ahead. They've kept a manager (that they at least respect) and we've lost ours.

Imagine being them right now. You'd be livid if most people's view, and the media's, was that they had a stronger chance at staying up. Totally understandable why that's the case and explains the 'narrative'.

We picked up more points in the 2nd half of the season than they did though, and we did the double on them last season. They started like a train while we were slow to get going, but after that there really wasn't a lot in it.

They also over achieved based on the season's stats. They finished ahead of where they would have been expected to on match data, and would not have finished top.

True, all that matters is the points you gain, and goals you score, but I would not want to be carrying their underlying data into the PL without a major overhaul.

The double, two clean sheets and +5

And Town is close to the easiest team they will face this season. And we have improved the team in this transfer window. More than COV at any rate...

I do like Winks his passing is fantastic but yeah it's missing a marquee signing in there, the other option was Florentino Luís.

Not up top or in midfield we haven’t. We can’t pin our hopes on a young Brazilian kid, which leaves Akpom or Hirst, neither of which are anywhere near good enough. The 2 midfielders we finished the season with are both injured, neither are really good enough either. We have nothing in the middle literally nothing.

Just spent the last 20mins watching some 'highlight' vids. I think he passed the ball forward 3 times those vids.

Big fan of ball retention but looks VERY similar to Matusiwa, perhaps a tiny bit more mobile. Perhaps an Ok pick-up as an alternative but certianly not THE answer to our midfield problems.

I have posted several times that we should go in for Leon Avdallahu at Hoffenheim. Take a look at his highlight reels. He is just brilliant at interceptions and tackles. But also hos distribution is superb. Yes he closer to £30M, but he is exactly what we need alongside Matusiwa. And at 23 a great age, low risk.

Poll: would you rather
