Yet we are absolutely two short, maybe three.
We need a decent LCB to compete with Greaves, we need a starting striker and ideally we need a more positive 8.

I think paying up to £17m for the relatively untried Outtara is at best risky, at worst nuts. Johnson, however mixed, has at least PL experience. |
I'm not even remotely worried about Outtara. GON knows the Prem inside out, and likely knows Outtara better than any manager in the world right now. Gotta trust his judgement on this one. Could genuinely turn out to be one of those gems that everyone else will be saying "how the hell did they pull that one off?"! |  |

Szmodics has only gone on loan, H Clarke and Hirst were supposed to be joining Stoke for a combined £13.5m, although that’s gone a bit quiet.
I’d be happy to keep J Clarke, Philogene and Taylor if squad size permits it.
Ogbene, Palmer and AAH would get £10m between them, anything more is a bonus. |

We'll realise a modest fee for Palmer, I think. There's a lot of clubs looking for keepers in the Champ and he's a decent age. Still less than £4m I'd imagine.
Can't see that there's any profit/SCR headroom to be realised on AAH or Ogbene. We will still be amortising half of Ogbene's initial transfer fee, we'd have to put all £4m on the books this season (£2m if we keep him). So anything less than £2m makes our books worse not better.
If we had serious cash on the table for AAH we wouldn't have countenanced loaning him to a Polish club with a transfer record of £1.5m. |  |

Yeah agree with that. From a spending rules point of view they must have a book value in the region of £4.5m between the 3 of them. I think we could potentially move them on and see a bit of profit from that point of view but it’ll be negligible in the grand scheme of things.

AAH's book value should be in six figures now, so I imagine the issue is persuading anyone to take a long-term risk on him with all the injuries.
Ogbene, well, that's going to be another loan, isn't it? The £2m amortised this season is probably least worst option, then you see how much of his wages you can get covered. | |
