Does Hirst leaving mean we're close to bringing in a CF? 09:47 - Aug 19 with 1982 viewsHackneyblueboy

Surely we are not going to let him go without a replacement?

Going into the season with just Emmerson and Akpom seems a big risk.

No problem with George going, feels like it's an area we need to upgrade.

Although it does feel risky in terms of out and out number 9's, both Enciso and Maeda have spent plenty of time as the focal point of an attack. I wonder if GON see's these guys as a rotation option with Emersonn.....

I think Enciso certainly can and will at times. Played in the 9 for Paraguay at the world cup and a similar profile to Cunha who GON utilised there at Wolves. I think he'll play more in the 10 in favour of a more physical 9, but certainly gives us an option.

Still clearly looking to recruit, maybe that'll be Embolo, but I do think the Enciso arrival has probably given us enough confidence to sanction the Hirst move.

Cunha is big, fast and strong though.

That's not Enciso.

He's played 9 for Strasbourg under O'Neil too.

I think we need one. We’ve been linked with at least one haven’t we, so I’m sure we’re trying to get a first choice 9.

It could very well indicate we're close to a deal on Embolo. However, I don't think it's the end of the world if we don't get a striker in the door now as Maeda and Enciso both have plenty of experience playing in the 9.

I think Stuart Watson's remark on his watering down of the Palacios/Embolo rumours is telling. He said that he understood thatvthe club were looking at other options.
Tells me the club are certainly looking for players of their profiles, yet they're either not Palacio or Embolo, or the club doesn't want it public that it's them.

Quite sure there's a cf incoming.

It only feels risky to some, as we don't know what's going on behind the scenes.

Really hope it's Ayase Ueda, really think someone in the lower half of the Prem is going to sign him and get a really decent return.

Enciso is fast to be fair, he's rapid on the counter.
