Never rated Le Fee. And obvisouly have seen two champ centre backs and wouldn't say they are top level. Assume Brobbey starting means Diopp has to start for us.

| Sunderland Starting 11 on 12:37 - Aug 21 with 1174 views | Vaughan8 | I think Snderland are a good team for us to see how good we are currently. Exceptyional year last year but I think they definitely overperformed. STrangely, despite their 2 centre backs not looking great on paper, their defence was quite good last season (bar the odd game), though I don't think O'Nien played much did he? | | | |

Someone can contradict me if wrong (I've not checked the stats) but from memory they seemed to win a lot of their home games and lose most away. That away record and a touch of second season syndrome should bode well for us.

(Whilst I do fear the Sunderland are going to be more settled than us and a cohesive unit, as their big squad rebuild was last summer). I am holding hope on two fronts They got d!cked 5-0 by Forest and 3-0 by Brentford, and I think they have that in them when you consider their stats: “Sunderland are the more extreme example of a team finishing far above what its underlying stats suggested. Sunderland: 7th, 54 points vs 42.03 xPTS → +11.97 points. Sunderland's xPTS suggested roughly 18th, meaning an extraordinary ~11-place overachievement.

They were 13th in the "away" table, so yes they were much better at home. Away W5, D6 L8 https://www.premierleague.com/

This is a big reason why the Sunderland model worries me slightly. They clearly over-performed massively last season but seem to be held up as the team to replicate in terms of signings. To be honest I'm not entirely sure what the alternative would be, but I don't think Sunderland are quite the example people think they are

| Sunderland Starting 11 on 13:47 - Aug 21 with 633 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | You can assume Diop will start every game for us if he’s fit. Never rated Le Fee?! He was absolutely class last season. They’ve had a few not play pre season at the back so yeah we might see a fee that played previously in the champ. | |

Sorry BH - should probably have read - haven't seen enough of Le Fe to form a proper opinion, so I've lazily written never rated him Hopefully Lukic and Florentino can keep him and Xhaka in check
