Jack Clarke 21:00 - Aug 26 with 4513 viewsottovonbismark

I've read 'online' that Jack Clarke is now linked with Boro and West Ham on a permanent deal. He's been great for us and would command a decent fee. It would be sad to see him leave, especially as Philogene has shown less commitment to the cause yet remains with Town.

Well, allowing your agent to agitate for move doesn’t exactly scream commitment does it?

I'm pretty convinced that most people on this board have absolutely no idea how agents work.

They aren't like PA's sitting doing nothing whilst waiting on instructions from their boss. Their job is to be constantly looking for a better deal for their client (and ultimately for them)

I really think a decent offer for Clarke should be considered, as his stock is high and arguably as high as it ever will be.

I like him, of course, but I'm not sure I see a successful Premier League player in him, too many holes in his game that would be exposed.

On the other hand he can only make it if given a chance. If I was Ashton though he'd be one where if a price was met I'd be willing to sell.

Oh, please leave off the superiority, if Philogene was committed, the first time his agent came out with that story, he’d have told him to stop.

Not to mention his injury record here isnt great,
Clarke when was he injured,
Also our top scorer last year and had limited game time till philly got oh injured,
He's a talent philly to lightweight injury prone I'd keep clarke,
But I can see him going as the club probably wanted to release one only if a decent offer came in, well that's out of the window with philogene isn't it,

It's not superiority, you're just talking bollox.

Show me how you know his agent came out with that story, as opposed to seeing something Romano put out and putting two and two together.

Happy to wait.

Clarke is certainly more reliable than Philohene. Philogene has spent a lot of time out injured whereas Jack Clarke is always available.

Sometimes I think about the frothing lunatics I’ve put on ignore, who will have kept replying to me again and again, but I don’t even realise they exist.

His agent literally paid for an advertisement to be put up by one of the most watched transfer commentators saying he was ready to leave Ipswich this summer.

Whilst you cannot blame the player for these actions without proof it was his call, you also cannot blame fans to decide from this and his history of moving clubs that his heart may not be in it.

Equally I doubt many of our squad are here because their heart is in it and that is just reality of club and player side of transfers. See how Hirst was shown the door over Akpom. It is therefore harsh to single our criticism towards Philogene.

Its not my call but I think JC should be given his chance over JP given he is the better impact substitute and for me shows more hunger. Also given his versatility with both feet I really do struggle to understand as a layman why Philogene cannot be played on the right.

That's not the same as "not being committed to the cause"

O'Neil likes him, and has said he's in his plans, several outlets have confirmed him to be staying, but still people want to see the back of him. Its been going on since last season.

I didn’t say it was. Simply pointing out that Jaden has missed an awful lot of our games whereas Clarke has been ever present so if there was a choice between keeping Clarke or Philogene then I’d keep Clarke.

I don't think there will be a choice though, not without a £30m plus offer. If that comes in, I think we sell, either one of them but, I think GO'N wants them both.

I don’t know who started it, and neither do you, I suspect, but there’s no need to be that confrontational is there?

That story ran for at least a week , appearing several times on social media, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for fans to draw a conclusion that JP isn’t as committed as he might be. It’s him who chooses his agent, so the idea that he ( the agent) plants a story like that without discussion with his client, but then it’s you whose the expert on agents, I know nothing.

I would be keeping JC. I think he has the ability to be a steady PL performer. We would have to spend the same or more to relace him. I trust JC.

Not me that started the confrontation, "Oh, please leave off the superiority,"

As you've just admitted you don't know, nor do I, given that, to accuse a player of not being committed to the cause with no evidence for it at all is a low blow for a player who we know is very shy, and keeps himself to himself.

Do posters on this board really think Philogene told his agent to go and have himself photographed at the Barca training centre whilst in negotiations with us? Of course they don't, no one would believe that, so it seems odd that they can't disassociate Jaden from his agent in this case then.

1) Jaden did not disassociate himself from the agent so why should fans. If anyone in public life does something and their employer does not disassociate themselves it is common reaction for them to be as in a place from agreeing to unbothered about the ethics of those actions.

2) As per above, for me it was not the announcement that disappointed me. It was the wording.

His agent could of worded it a million different ways with tact and touch. Ipswich town star Philogene generating interest from European clubs. Town willing to sell at right price.

I read it, it's a shame, he may move on I don't question the player.

"Jaden Philogene has told Ipswich Town that he wants to leave the club in this window" the exact wording. Check yourself. Not very tactful is it and impresses the idea the player themself wants to leave doesn't it

That's Fabrizio's wording.

Neither of us know if he copied it word for word from the agent or embellished it to generate more engagement, which Fab earns a fair bit of money from.

Yes that is true, it is Fabrizios wording but the wording is really really poor. If that wording is not true and you or your agent say nothing publicly against it being the case then what do you expect.

I don't think it's fair or perhaps even realistic for JP to have to ask Fabrizio to publicly to change it but equally if you do not then you can surely understand why fans have been impressed with the idea he wants to leave. Truth or not

Also it's JP and Ipswich. I seriously doubt Fabrizio is bothered about embellishing it.

I asked the OP a really reasonable question. Blue Funk decided to jump in on that and accuse me of being 'superior'. Now I'm being told I'm argumentative, and yet Phil has never left me with a flashing red box.

I don't for one second imagine that if BF had called you 'superior' you would just go, "yeah alright I was' and back down. And honestly I've gotten a bit fed up with going to post stuff on here and then deleting it incase someone doesn't like it, yet everyone else seems to with impunity.

You are allowed to write what you like as often as you like. (within the rules of the board)
You can argue with whoever you want. You can disagree with whoever you want. It doesn't really matter whether anybody agrees with you or not. This is just a message board on the internet.
The only reason I said what I did, is because you are one of the posters on here I mainly agree with.
You don't have to agree with me, but I have just noticed a small change in you over the last couple of weeks.
No offense meant and I hope none was taken.

Doesn't he have a history of sore throats every transfer window in case there is another sign on fee vaguely possible?

Him and his agent are pretty shameless.

I know that was then, but it could be again..
