In Argentine Spanish, the surname Palacios is pronounced as pah-LAH-syohss (or pah-LAH-shohss / pah-LAH-zhohss depending on the regional accent).The main difference in Argentina comes from how they pronounce the "c" and the "s". And of course Nunez is from Recoleta, in Santiago, which is in the top half of Chile.
They’re all close(ish) to the Tropic of Capricorn!! They’re the “Tropic of Capricorn Tractors Boys”

Think a lot of English people would find the fillings in an Argentinian empanada de carne quite eccentric - olives, egg, raisins!
(I once suggested to the father of my ex-, a very successful Argentinian businessman who owned a string of bakeries selling empanadas and other Argentinian specialities, that empanadas were clearly direct descendants of the English pasty - the lard in the pastry, the shape, the crimp, the very early modern english combo of dried fruit with meat. He was... displeased!)

BUT who doesn’t love an Empinada! And also they suit a poultry based filling better than your West Country staple.

there is (or was at least) a Chilean place in Norwich Market that sold empanadas - I was rather hoping they were connected to Nunez somehow and would move down to Ipswich with him!
