Me and my 87 year old mum were chatting about this sort of issue the other day. She blamed the decline in teaching / popularity of sociological / arts subjects, which always emphasise the importance of evaluating source material and generally allowing for bias in what people say or publish. That might well be true of some, but I was referring to all ages, not just younger generations or more recent education systems.

One of the few advantages of being elderly is that it gives you long decades of experience. There are different kinds of intelligence; I've found that many good people who have emotional intelligence but whose strength isn't the academic kind, are those whose reactions are more likely to be ones of fear and emotion rather than using logic.

Thing is, what's to be done about that? I'm not a politician, educationalist or genius! so not qualified to answer that, though on the face of it I'd say it's probably too late for older generations, hope lies in more and better education for the younger ones in future.

What I was trying to point out was that if people lack academic, analytical, or critical thinking skills, that isn't necessarily their fault or automatically mean they're bad or unkind people. The reverse can of course also be true - those having high academic skills & intelligence doesn't necessarily mean they're good or kind people.

Who are these Glassers? Are they militant Islamist groups? It looks like it from the writing on that flag in the first picture. Obviously not a good look on the face of it. I don’t think it’s acceptable to be masked. Or rather it crosses the line from ‘reasonable’ civil disobedience to something darker and more sinister and should be treated more severely by the authorities. Not good at all.

I wan’t aware we had multiple masked groups vying for ‘tvvat’s of the year’ award. I know Antifa used to be active, but not seen anything from them lately. I don’t know anything about these Herberts Glassers has shown.

If you think intimidation tactics using shows of force through mass groups, uniforms, masks, etc., is not good, it should apply to all these groups imo. It shouldn’t matter whether you agree with their underlying beliefs/cause or not.
