According to the PL handbook, our capacity this season is 30,294.
As the Liverpool match was sold out and the 30,019 attendance includes any no shows, where are those extra 275 seats?!
Rightly or wrongly the capacity of 30,294 includes all unsold seats, but even allowing for that I assume all hospitality, press box, directions box, TV studio, players family suite, dugout seats etc. had bums on seats. As far as I know we don't lose any seats to segregation either.

I would imagine that the press box wasn't full to capacity, and the same may also have been true for other club-controlled seats, and perhaps some of the severely restricted view seats. | |

Firstly take to PL handbook with a pinch of salt - it can be out, especially when a club is doing work on their stadium during the summer. The number is submitted weeks before the season starts, and is a 'best guess' as to what it will actually be when the season starts. If you take the handbook as gospel, then in 24/25 we had games with attendance that exceeded the capacity!
Add to that the seats for press, VIP, etc these often have some not used and those seats are included in the total capacity. [Post edited 6 Sep 18:55]

The number is submitted weeks before the season starts, and is a 'best guess' as to what it will actually be when the season starts. If you take the handbook as gospel, then in 24/25 we had games with attendance that exceeded the capacity!
Add to that the seats for press, VIP, etc these often have some not used and those seats are included in the total capacity. [Post edited 6 Sep 18:55]

Not saying that's not true, but surely the club would know how many seats were have a few weeks before the start of the season? All the work is planned, it's not like they're guessing at how the build will go, and working off the back of a fag packet! |  | | |

I did hear that someone messed up the count for the north stand seating and there are slightly fewer sears than intended. Club blamed a contractor but a few fans had to be moved around.
Might well account for some of the difference. |  |

The PL handbook is not updated during the season, but stadium capacity can and does. The club has a statutory obligation to notify changes, but that doesn’t get reflected in the handbook after it’s published. It is therefore not a definitive source. I’m not suggesting it is out of sync this season, but it was demonstrably inaccurate at some point during 24/25.
Neither am I suggesting it would be way out, but with it being published a month before the season starts, and presumably being edited weeks before that, there is potential for some info changing if any mistakes were found in the count after any work was completed. As long as this is notified to the authorities before the season begins, there is no problem, but the PL handbook is then out of sync with the statutory declaration. | | | |

According to the official website, our capacity is 30,056. However, it claims the away capacity is only 2567, so it is probably out of date.
