I haven’t heard Brazil since the 2000s when I had it on commuting to work and he was on with that balloon Parry. Bent and Ambrose are ok, but rarely listen to them. I’m a bit of an infrequent radio listener tbh. I did here Bent lay into Lambert though which was funny and of course he appears on tv sometimes.

I do agree with all of that. But in my view in a way they're both as bad as each other - the Nodge fan is sitting in judgment on other football fans, and deciding whether they are 'proper' enough or 'plastic'. I don't think we have a right to sit in judgment on other people like that.
Over 51,000 fans at that game yesterday. That's a pretty decent attendance in an early round fixture of the Carabao cup against a team from a lower league, when it's guaranteed the XI will be a B team. Have all of these people really travelled up from the home counties? Or Indonesia? And if they have, surely that indicates serious dedication to turn up at the match, in which case who the hell is an away fan to tell them they're not authentic enough? Too many kids, women, southern accents, not enough fingers per hand, whatever criticism is levelled at a fanbase, they can wind their neck in. City did their talking on the pitch.
I dislike money buying success, but criticise the /club/ for being plastic, or the sport itself if you must. The fans are just people who want to watch football. A contest, or non-contest in this case, between two teams of 11 players. |  | | |

You are exactly right. The fact that it is Norwich is irrelevant, last season it could just as easily have been us that he's talking about. Talksport is only interested in the Big Six because that's what their listeners are interested in. It's a commercial enterprise, I get that. However to so crudely dismiss the rest of football as an irritation, there to be swatted away, shows just how vast the chasm is between those big teams and the rest of the PL let alone the Championship. That is not healthy and completely disregards years of history and the culture of English football. To be honest I'd not be upset if they did f**k off to a super league and let the rest of us get on with playing in a competitive league, in front of genuine fans, creating a genuine atmosphere. |  |

I thought part of the reason why they are called 'plastic' fans was a reference to credit cards.
Ie. They are only here for success and are happy to spend crazy money to watch games but they dont turn up when the teams in League 1 and games cost you a fiver.
By Cundy's argument they are exactly that: plastic fans. They're better than you because they spend money and turn up to see big name football not support their team the whole time including games against lower tier English sides.
The fact he's actively proud of that and no-one challenges him is quite disgusting tbh. I don't care that it's Norwich, he's saying 99% of English football doesn't matter because they don't have money. That's not an elite attitude, it's an elitist one. Sounds a right p**t to me |  | | |

I think it works both ways. Seems very trendy for supporters of lower sides to resort to cheap insults about the top clubs. Man City will play 60 games this year and last night probably ranks in the bottom 3 (only to be outdone if they get even more lowly opposition in other cups). There's still 50,000 people there for it. Football is about jeopardy and excitement, forgive the fans for not making a raucous atmosphere when a side that barely qualifies as their 2nd string pummel Norwich for 90 minutes to the extent they don't so much as muster a shot on target. It was a glorified training session. That itself raises bigger questions about the state of modern football, but that's not on the Man City fans. They're a well supported club in Manchester and beyond, with a lot of loyal supporters who were there well before the oil money. Unless they were acting like complete arseholes which I don't believe was the case.
