By Scherpen's standards Walton was good midweek.
1. Utd 5th: off his line, didn't get there, lobbed.
2. Liv 1st: near post hand-height. Through his hands.
3. Liv 2nd: Off his line, no-mans-land.
4. One or other of the two goals at Palace was reachable
That's nearly half our goals conceded this season. Also Scherpen lucky to get away with pass straight to Adam Wharton in a central position at Palace.
Walton on Tues was not at major fault for any goals, only pass wide to Nunez was partly intercepted, but Nunez got a touch on it, and it was Greaves and Ouattara more at fault for not winning the second ball they were favourites for. Much more for Arsenal to do than the sitter Wharton was gifted.

I simply do not believe that GON is the type to do this. He comes across as a decent man manager.

And Everton are a team who tend to struggle to score from open play IIRC. Walton was decent last season but I think it's too early to be switching keepers : especially considering Walton's performance against Arsenal. | |
