If you win it you qualify for the World Cup (I think). I am not sure if you might if you come second too. I think third means some play off to possibly do so but if you finish bottom you have to go through qualifying for the World Cup or something like that.
Ultimately it is just a glorified set of friendlies but they do seem to have much more competitive edge than the old friendlies used to have. | |

Again, whilst there are times to play it long, I don't think that was the issue for England tonight. A lack of shape playing the offside trap (Spain had that too and it shouldn't be that surprising when the players hardly play or train together) and a lack of awareness of the opposition players around them were the problems. You could also argue it was a very effective press from the Spanish as well. | |

If you win your group you guarantee yourself a play off spot for the Euros.
Sweden won their Nations League group last time which guaranteed a World Cup plsy off spot. They then finished bottom of their World Cup quslifying group but qualified by winning the play offs. | | | |
