Had it happen a couple of times. Once it flew back out of the door. Another time required the use of a fishing net or butterfly net while standing on the table. Bat was successfully released. Reminiscent of the video above actually, though without the humourous commentary.

Have a colony of bats living in the gable wall of the house. Usually get a few flying into house during the summer when the windows are open. We have the well rehearsed strategy of opening all the windows fully and turning the lights off. (Though after seeing the video above im now just considering chasing um around wirh a towel) They soon seem to fly out again. They seem to do a fair job of keeping the dreaded midgy( autocorrect really wants this to say midget) population down so I consider them on the side of good
