| Jenrick - Confronting shoplifter on 20:39 - Oct 2 by BlueForYou | So you all think shoplifting is fine then? No regard for the small business owner? It takes a Reform politician to highlight this despicable ongoing small crime epidemic. This is not a party political joke! Quite why this is not condemned & acted upon by all, is rather staggering. |
He's hardly highlighting it. We've all seen it happening - almost every day in the Sainsbury's near where I lived. Worth remembering this is the same politician who did this: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-po

Glad you're not a police officer then, im afraid to say! His face is entirely visible. From 1 second to 10 seconds, you can see his face entirely.

Maybe you're right, but the similarities with his last 'stunt' (maybe not, but that's wht I'm suggesting) are very close. Let's go back to May 2025. Reform had just had its breakthrough English local elections on 1st May, winning the Runcorn and Helsby by-election plus council seats. The Tories had bombed. A couple of week later he was putting pressure on Badenoch, claiming the Tories risked being wiped out unless they became tougher on crime and immigration. Shortly after that he attacked Labour’s sentencing reforms as effectively allowing criminals to avoid prison. And then he conveniently accosted fare-dodger on the tube and then released a slickly edited solcial media video where he complained aboutshoplifting, phone theft, drugs and disorder. Here he was, stepping in as the hero of the hour stopping what the authorities can't. Fast forward to today. A day after Labour's early release scheme saw several hundred prisoners released. Reform were very vocal yesterday about how bad this would be for society and lead to lawlessness on our streets. Sarah Pochin was outside Brixton prison yesterday filming about hoew "criminals are being freed onto our streets". One day later, Jenrick also happens to be in Brixton where he happens upon the alleged Greggs shoplifting and steps in valiently to challenge him, whist producing another slickly filmed video aboit how the country' gone to crap. The hero; the man of the hour doing what the authorities can't again. Smells iffy to me. Maybe he's just always out being the vigilante we all need and does that even when the camera's aren't rolling. He doesn't look like the type to front up to hardened criminals though. Only a couple of questions from me. Why was he by Greggs in Brixton today, not far from Brixton Prison, when he had no appointments there (from what I can gather) and it's out of his way for Westminster? And why were they filming street-content there so that they managed to catch someone shoplifting? It doesn't have to be staged of course. He could have just gone out fishing for a criminal act like he did with the tube fare-dodging incident. It worked last time, so it's not a big jump to think he'd try it again. (PS. I can't believed I've just looked all that crap up again from last year lol) [Post edited 2 Oct 22:30]

| Jenrick - Confronting shoplifter on 09:46 - Oct 3 with 462 views | eireblue | The Tory government introduced legislation in 2014 that effectively decriminalised shoplifting for items valued under £200. This classification meant that such thefts were treated as summary-only offences, which significantly reduced the legal consequences for offenders. Consequences of the Legislation Increase in Shoplifting Incidents: Following the change in law, shoplifting incidents surged. For example, in 2024, nearly 90,000 shoplifting offences were recorded in London alone, marking a 54% increase from the previous year. The Labour government passed the Crime and Policing Act 2026, which repeals the special “low-value shoplifting” rule for goods Jenrick, paid by tax payers to be a representative in Parliament, didn’t vote. And of course, we all know which party he was an MP for in 2014. [Post edited 3 Oct 9:51]

It’s so obviously staged. Reform really are the WWE of political parties, so much so that they’re not even really a political party, more a business who stand in elections.

Swansea has laid out above all of the holes in this charade. If you want to fall for it then that’s up to you. The bloke is an absolute phoney, as is the business cosplaying as a political party he’s part of.

Clearly not staged. Not gonna get many actors willing to be a patsy on this one with their face clearly shown. If you want to fall for someone else’s arguments against what is in front of your eyes, then that’s up to you. [Post edited 3 Oct 12:08]

“ Fair play to Jenrick.” The British sense of fair play, would be he does the job tax payers pay him to do. And that isn’t essentially decriminalising shoplifting, which his party did, not turning up to vote to repeal that mistake, which hurt business owners. 670 shoplifting offences unresolved daily in London, he returned one bottle of coke. “Fair play” Want to buy a really nice bridge?

Yep “Fair play to Jenrick” for approaching a shoplifter. More people should do this and protect our businesses. I’m a great supporter of British retailers and they need protecting. Fair play.

Shame he made it so easy for shoplifters and cut policing when in power. One Robert Jenrick, happening on a shoplifter, isn’t better than enacting legislation and adequately funding the police. Will you be voting for Robert Jenrick, to reduce the sentencing for knife crime, and hope he happens on some gang violence, maybe he will cut the number of traffic police, and remove fines for speeding, and he will happen across one speeder outside a school whilst accident rates go up. Thanks for the DM, it really is a nice bridge, you won’t regret buying it.

I can’t help protect our businesses in the same way as I don’t have a camera crew, or security personnel. I also have to turn up to my place of work, I’d be sacked if they found me making tick tock videos at the Greggs in Brixton instead.

So we just let people get away with what they want because something “might” happen. Society is f*%cked. I for one would like to think I could be as brave and stand up to them. I salute Jenrick for it and Let’s hope others use this as inspiration. [Post edited 3 Oct 13:16]
