Mowed the lawn then went out on my bike to the shops. Feet now up in front of the telly and about to crack open a beer

These are the days | |

| Life ain’t so bad thread on 16:57 - Oct 3 with 1478 views | Churchman | Indeed it’s not. Off to Portugal tomorrow to play golf for a few days. Back a week then Amsterdam for a few days chillaxing and visiting the odd museum and bar. End of the month - Egypt. Happy days. Is there anything different about Amish bread other than I’m guessing it’s hand made? | | | |
| I’m in Reykjavík…. on 17:04 - Oct 3 with 1459 views | Bloots | …it’s raining. But I’ve found a boozer with the football on and it’s only £6:50 a pint. Life ain’t bad. | |
| Keaton, Kint, McManus, Fenster and Hockney. |

| Life ain’t so bad thread on 17:09 - Oct 3 with 1438 views | StochesStotasBlewe | Indeed. Started the day with a banitsa and coffee in downtown Sofia. Took in some sights before a hike in the Vitosha nature park. Glorious weather though getting a bit nippy so off out to sample some traditional Bulgarian food and drink. | |
| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

| Life ain’t so bad thread on 17:19 - Oct 3 with 1407 views | Zx1988 | It's not bad, is it? Insanely productive day here - painted the garden fence, booked our Christmas trip to Bavaria, planted some bulbs for next spring, enrolled on the course for the next level of my professional qualification, baked some sausage rolls for the LGBTQIA+ church service tomorrow, and now off to the gym before dinner to watch a bit of the England game as I destroy myself on the cross-trainer. Happy days. | |

Bavaria is lovely. Where are you staying? Professional qualification? I’m surprised you need those for Greggs I take it cooking the sausage rolls is part of the training? 😂

We're doing a week based in München, and taking a few day trips from there. Salzburg and Garmisch are definitely on the list, and perhaps Tegernsee. I've read that the Christmas markets of the three towns around the lake are all open at weekends, and that they're connected by a boat across the lake. Sounds amazing.

Munich, Salzburg and Garmush are brilliant. Not been to tegernsee. Germany/ that part of the world is great. Enjoy! [Post edited 4 Oct 8:29]

| Life ain’t so bad thread on 05:14 - Oct 4 with 843 views | Benters | Indeed it isn’t so bad. Yesterday was my Birthday I went for a lovely walk round the green, saw a few people I knew stroked their dogs. I’m on a strict alcohol limit 14 units a week,so I had 1 bottle of Ghostie and a glass of Prosecco. Sat in my garden watching the birds and squirrels munching nuts. Happy days. Belated birthday wishes for yesterday. Yes lovely still during the day a shame the days are getting shorter, like you watching the squirrels who are in their element at the moment. | |

| Life ain’t so bad thread on 10:04 - Oct 4 with 629 views | Dubtractor | I'm having a lovely weekend. Had the day off on Friday, spent it doing garden jobs in glorious sunshine, and yesterday i spent the day in TVs London at a party for the radio station I play on. Planning a low key day today, with more sunshine. Currently sat in the garden enjoying a coffee from my fancy coffee machine. Other middle class clichés are available. For all the noise about London being a monstrous hellscape, full of shariah law and muggings, I have a great time every time I'm there. | |

Maybe Ernie is Gideon Osborne in disguise. He didn't like sausage rolls. Mind you, he didn’t seem to like much at all. Still, he opened the door for me on a couple of occasions…. He probably didn’t realise I liked a Greggs finest.

Yep, Abide with me is a good un! Had that as one of the three the old man’s funeral. I always think of it as the Cup Final song.

Assume this was for the encore? Standard practice to save the big hits for the last couple of tunes.

Final two of Abide With Me and 'Immortal, Invisible'. We're a very broad church, both liturgically and musically, so any given Sunday will be anything from Taizé chanting, all the way through to Hillsong-type stuff. You can never beat belting out the old classics, though.
