Will Lukic and Diop give us an advantage tomorrow? 11:50 - Oct 9 with 936 viewsringwoodblue

I see that 76% have predicted a Town win tomorrow on the prediction league. This feels like the sort of game we will need to win if we are going to stay up but it will be tricky as they played well against Liverpool and Man U and who knows which side will play better after the long international break.

I recognise that their manager and tactics will have changed and they’ve signed some new players since they left but I wonder how much insight Lukic and Diop will be able to give GON and the team to help us exploit Fulham’s weaknesses?

As you say, the manager change will probably nullify any knowledge they can bring.

I see Fulham are bookies slight favourites despite not winning any of their first 5.

Generally speaking our support will always back us to win.

It's going to be a tougher game tomorrow than many realise. If we get something out of it we will have done really well.

No.

Head says draw, heart says 8-1 to us. Sorry to be negative but just can't see a clean sheet.

Tough yes. But we’ve invested nearly £200M on players and brought in a manager who according to Ashton is the right man to keep us up. To stay up, at some point we have to ratchet games which we really need to win to achieve the goal. Fulham at home is certainly one of them.

For me anything less than a win will be disappointing.

Yes, but in the sense of snuffing out counterattacks. Something I saw suggested that Fulham are quite defensive, the deciding factor might be how often we can break through and if we can turn opportunities into goals, while being careful not to be caught out when we do lose possession.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

I think you are setting yourself up for a disappointment, we'll lose a lot more of these than we'll win this season. A bit like the Everton and Manure games, both average sides at this level we couldn't beat. Fulham are much the same.

We spent similar amounts of money last time, and we're still an upper Championship side overall, with the inclusion of a few quality players in real terms, it's going to cost a lot more to sustain us in the Premier League than what we have spent, a lot more. We're literally hoping we can stay ahead of Hull, Coventry and hope another established side has a bad season.

Could give it a generic title so it applies to every game, how about...

View from an adjacent county.

On paper we won't have many games that are more winnable than Fulham at home. We cannot be looking at these kind of games as a 'take a point' scenario. We need to win about 10/11 games - this has to be viewed as one of the best chances to get one of those wins.
