Flynn Downes 14:23 - Jul 24 with 5830 views | HarryWright | So from those who have seen him, how good actually is he? Looks like he might even start the first game, was quite disappointed when Benyu left but is this guy potentially better?

I wouldn't be so sure about that. This kid is the real deal and looks to be ahead if Dozzell and Bishop in terms of ability and capability to perform in the first team. He essentially was pivotal to the flowing football on display in the first half. Constantly demanding the ball, linking up defence with attack. Probing passes, soild tackles winning the ball off senior pros, excellent vision, direct at times ALWAYS a forward pass. Trust me the big clubs will be sniffing round come Jan .

I'd still say it was unlikely he'll get to start against Brum, but if the lad's as good as he's been billed he'll be forcing his way in soon enough.

Flynn Downes on 14:36 - Jul 24 with 4122 views | Steve_M | He played well on Saturday, although it was mainly a case of doing simple stuff well, and quickly, rather than anything exceptional. Recycling possession really shouldn't stand out as much as it does whenever any Town player does it. There's probably an outside chance of him being involved against Birmingham rather than Luton I should think. if senior players don't get some game time beforehand.

I'd say Adeyemi/Huws will need to get their skates on if we hope they are fit enough for the Brum game.

I really don't see how he gets back in the side to be honest, even considering he's been one of the first names on the team sheet when fit, under Mick.

Could he be the Jim Magilton we've been desperately missing all these years?

Actually, stepping back for a second: Hyam, Bishop, Dozzell, Downes (if he's as good as we think) That is not a bad lot to choose from and all ITFC grown as well?

I think he's had his day. 26 in October, no longer one of the youngsters, cant see him being more than a squad player in future.

Very much so, and great to see. Fair play to the academy! Only fear* is that Downes and Dozzell could well pass right by Hyam and Bishop unless they get over their injuries (soon). *not really a fear for the club, more so Bishop & Hyam for their careers.

People seem to forget that Hyam played quite alot in that Play-Off season. He's a solid Championship midfielder.

Mainly down to the injury record of the past 2 years, looks a bit of a Wilshere situation. I'd love to see him injury free all season, but not sure he's capable of that.

More of a fragile midfielder over the past 2 years.

Agreed. I though Luke looked far better once back from his Rotherham spell and would be a very reliable CM/DM for us, as he has shown. Proper bite again in the middle of the park. I'm more worried for Bish actually, his form seems to have utterly deserted him....although I think he really needs a run of both games and being injury free. But your point is very valid - if they are not careful - that could be it for them here....that would be a great shame.
