Time to admit defeat as a country, let alone as a so-called political leader.

In the words of Kenny Rogers:

So I handed him my bottle
And he drank down my last swallow
Then he bummed a cigarette
And asked me for a light
And the night got deathly quiet
And his face lost all expression
He said, "If you're gonna play the game, boy
You gotta learn to play it right

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done

Well the dealin's done and you Brexiteers have fecked up. Bluffing chuffnuts.

I missed that.

Teresa May in your bed? That's as much fun as a barrel of dead frogs. And as politically valuable.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I bet Philip is having to tread very carefully these days for risk of getting his ear chewed off! Philip May that is, not our one - he’s too busy selling our data to the Ruskies.

I wonder if yesterday will do down as the day that everyone finally lost any faith in British politics and British politicians.

Not really, because a lot of peole got what they wanted (May's deal thrown out). The crisis will come if nothing is sorted out by March and the crash-exit does not go well.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

The last 2 years has been like watching a massive car accident taking place in super slow motion, Gina Miller threw a massive spanner in the works and from the point that ruling happened, the outcome was a matter of when not if - Losing faith in British Politics really happened for me when May called a pointless general election, and lost the slight upper hand she had.

To be fair, May didn’t have enough of an upper hand to start with; the meagre majority left by Cameron was nowhere near enough to get Brexit through the Commons.

Agreed. But arguably the same has always been true of the referendum result itself.

A 52%-48% result brings us to a soft Brexit and a feeling of what's the point.

52% on that question was never a mandate for a hard Brexit or especially a no-deal Brexit.

Was a 'deal' mentioned on the 2016 ballet paper anywhere?

No.

The options were leave and remain.

LEAVE WON.

Good, so we could have left and been like Norway all along. Glad that's been cleared up.

So you’re happy enough to leave the political institution of the EU but stay part of the customs union, single market and retain freedom of movement then?

If not, then it’s obviously quite a lot more complex than leave means LEAVE.
