"Derby County’s stadium was on the club’s books for £41 million but sold for £80 million to another company owned by club chairman Mel Morris. It was then leased back to the club for around £40 million."

It is fücking outrageous that this is allowed.

It is disgraceful. Fair play to Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson, who seems to have taken the cause up himself as the Football League doesn't seem to care.

As Derby will no doubt find out, it’s a trick you can only pull off once.

I know Steve Gibson tried to sue Derby, but then someone pointed out he voted for the rule change to allow this type of sale to happen 🙄

Boro taking short term loans to cover them until two transfer instalments are paid

Same with AC Milan negotiating their punishment. They should just scrap FFP. We seemed to be one of about three clubs in the top two divisions who stuck to it and that was more out of convenience than any genuine belief.

Truly impaired.

For ITFC it was the convenience of a ready made excuse not to spend anything.

There is absolutely no point to FFP if it isn’t going to be enforced.

Clubs should be able to spend what they want if they have the money. FFP is just there to protect the elite clubs from being challenged by smaller clubs with wealthy owners.

If City don't get chucked out of the CL then all bets are off as far as FFP is concerned.

Evans used FFP as a convenient excuse not to spend meaningfully!

The FA will not enfore FFP in any meaningful way.

Result - ITFC continue to decline.

Happy Days!

You do realise that would pretty much make us a League Two side? Be careful what you wish for etc etc etc

At least now, clubs are pretending to care about FFP. It might not be working, but it's stopping clubs from chucking £2bn at promotion and leaving us even further behind than we are now.

The problem with football is that it's not an even playing field. Ipswich is never going to attract investment in the same way a big city club will, because no matter how much money you throw at us, we'll never be Man City. Not enough of a potential fanbase, not enough of a city to attract the bi names... we'd be finished.
