I mean as far as I'm concerned it's not different to growing your own veg and having an honesty box with a shelf outside your house. If it were legal, he could be running a lovely business for the local community and making a national contribution to the coffers. But nah, arrested for PLANTS. [Post edited 22 May 2020 16:42]

That would be a very civilised system, but the trouble is I would keep forgetting what I was there for. Pickles!

Not sure vegetables can cause long-term mental illness though.

So does alcohol though. In fact I’d argue you’re probably more likely to get mentally ill from drinking. Certainly the case for me.

Upsetting local news on 19:01 - May 22 by monytowbray | That’s FA mate, they found a warehouse housing £4m worth near Portsmouth a few years back being manned by human trafficked folk who were living in squalor on site. This is just some bloke who is very passionate about perfecting his gardening techniques and grow a business. [Post edited 22 May 2020 19:01]

An illegal business though, I think. Not into this kind of stuff, but doesn't it have to be for your own use?

If there is suspicion of intent to deal then yeah it is by law. And seeing as it was a fair bit of weed and he’d been nicked before I imagine it’s clear cut there. Although the issue really is it shouldn’t really be illegal in the first place. Our nation has no issue profiting off it for medical purposes in other countries. https://vt.co/news/uk/the-uk-is-the-worlds-largest-exporter-of-medicinal-cannabi On our doorstep too.

With a proper regulated legal industry you wouldn’t need to worry about that anymore.

Wouldn't disagree, but the comparison was vegetables and cannabis.

All the money figures quoted in these things are complete BS. Always way overstated. Hear it on the news "with a street value of £xxxxx"

True, better in the hands of legalised criminals than just criminals! The mental health side of prolonged cannabis use has to be a bit of a concern though, surely?

Dunno, I feel the other way. I was mentally damaged already. Sometimes it just helps rewire the brain, have a bit of clarity and let stuff go. I find it hard to be angry about anything when stoned. It also makes food taste better, music sound better and jokes funnier. It’s not for everyone but then if it ain’t for you don’t do it. Long term who knows? I’ve know people who have happily smoked every day well into old age and have no regrets. I also know someone who had an actual full breakdown and got sectioned in their youth. But then again I also speculate a lot of the time substances trigger what’s already there hiding under the surface.
