FAO Phil: whinging to the club about ifollow 11:36 - Oct 21 with 1170 viewsSouperJim

Phil, while I'm not suggesting this is anything that should be put to the playing staff, I'm wondering if there is anything TWTD can do to highlight to the club the problems the fans are experiencing with ifollow?

I realise the club are dependent on the service provided on their behalf, it does seem to be the case that a worrying number of people are still experiencing issues with the service (enough that I don't think it can simply be put down to user error or problems with their equipment/internet connection) and/or rather substandard customer service when dealing with problems and refunds etc.

Think the club are fully aware of the problems. At least twice this season they’ve contacted the EFL about the poor service.

The iFollow service is absolutely dreadful. Took me 15 minutes to get the Blackpool game streaming last week. The EFL have got to sort that out asap.

My stream last night decided to join in at 12 minutes in to match

Not ideal, I'm not very happy about it

Fair enough, probably doesn't hurt to keep making the point until it we see improvements though

Mine didn't work at all.

I tried again at the start of the 2nd half but it still wasn't working, so binned it off.

Until last night it had worked OK for me.

My problem last night was apparently because I'd bought a pass for an incorrect game due to the club putting an incorrect link in twitter.

As Illy says, I know they are aware and I know people there who are frustrated that something under their name has not been up to scratch when it's not them actually responsible for running it.

I think the underlying issue is that iFollow is doing a job on a scale it was never intended to, which is little consolation to those who are missing great chunks of games as a result of its failings.

I will pass this thread on though, so they are aware there are continued frustrations.

The service has been pretty crap since it's inception so the scale issue only goes so far. How hard is it to get a camera man who's actually living in this dimension as an example.

That is another issue. I know it is an iFollow appointment rather than Town's and that it is someone who is experienced rather than someone new to it. I believe he was spoken to at a recent game after complaints.

And now we go live to the studio for the half time analysis...

(I know we don't have a half time analysis, before some smart arse says something).

I think that, if the EFL are going to start taking the issues seriously, people need to start complaining and demanding refunds, and going as far as to issue chargebacks when those requests are ignored.

If people don't demand their money back, and accept it as part-and-parcel of the system, the EFL isn't going to pay the blindest bit of notice whilst the money is still coming in.
