I don't think it's obvious, personally. You think we're better off with Lambert and Downes, vs. a Paul Cook but without Downes? Baring in mind he's not played this season, it's an area we're well stocked in and if Lambert stays, Downes leaves at some point soon anyway as we sure as hell aren't going up with him in charge.

I would, defo. There is zero point having Lambert here, taking us backwards. We could have Messi in our side and Lambert would still fvck it up,

Nope, Downes transforms this team (and that's not saying Lambert gets a pass when he's fit btw). For what it's worth, really not sure Cook is the person I'd go for at ITFC. Instinctively doesn't feel like the one.

Would you lose Downes in Jan on 12:29 - Nov 30 with 489 views | MrTown | Yes, Downes doesn't want to be here, I really like Downes as a footballer, but he's only got 2 years left in the summer, he certainly isn't going to sign a new deal. Going to have to cash in at some point. Doubt it is as simple as that though.

Would you lose Downes in Jan on 12:29 - Nov 30 with 485 views | Bent_double | Yes, as long as it's £2m+ upfront, and we get first option to loan him back, either for the rest of the season, or the whole of next season if we are in the Championship. Not ideal, but it's an option we shouldn't rule out.

I agree. FWIW I think Downes is excellent, he's our best player and a huge loss that he's been out. But We had him last season and did feck all, I don't have any confidence that Lambert can get a tune out of this squad with or without Downes, and I think we can probably afford to lose him in that area with Dozzell, Nolan, Bishop, Judge, Skuse & Nydam perhaps coming back etc. Plus maybe El Miz back from Cambridge. Of course ideally we have a new manager AND Downes for the 2nd half of the season, but I do think the single biggest denominator in terms of our success this season will be the manager and management team, not any individual player. Lambert Out.

It's certainly not, I just meant it as a hypothetical scenario.

No I understand what you're saying. A short answer to the question, yes, yes I would if it meant Paul f*cking Guardiola bounced.
