Anyone else had problems with EBay sellers? 15:55 - Dec 11 with 3414 views | DebsyAngel | Am getting REALLY peed off with a certain seller on there - Business Line. Ordered a pair of slipper boots for my Mum in law for Xmas, they took the money and said had delivered on 19 November, but allow extra "because of covid". (Poor excuse as not one other seller has hidden behind this and posted stuff promptly and in at least a week. I normally allow a 2 week period for stuff to come before I chase it up. I did that and went through EBay and the seller replied that they were posted. This saga went on and on, and saw that other people leaving negative feedback about them were saying likewise. I had communicated with EBay and the seller that if these were not available, could I have a refund as needed to order elsewhere in time for Xmas. Last Saturday, received an email off Ebay that I WOULD NOT BE REFUNDED as the items had been sent and handed to the resident on 19 November - this was impossible as both me and my husband were here ALL day and had just the normal Royal Mail post and an item delivered by Curry's. They sent a tracking number from AMAZON. We looked it up and it stated that it was delivered on 19 November. Another lie. My husband got in touch with Ebay and they said they would phone us. I tried to explain the situation but fell to bits as my anxiety was making hard to breathe, so he took over and said they the item had been delivered here. He said that where was the item posted from and to which address? We were told to contact Amazon then, which we did, and someone there was extremely helpful and stated it had NOT been delivered to our address. We emailed this to EBay and they phoned again saying they believed us, and that a refund would be awarded. Then this Monday (5 mins before I had a hospital appointment), Hermes delivered a parcel - the flipping slipper boots, would you believe. Had a sticker on them "2 day delivery". Pretty obvious these were rushed out after the EBay conversations. Contacted EBay AGAIN Monday evening and could not even understand the 2 people who called me. Sounded like one line was cutting in and out, and the other we tried, a houseful of screaming kids and could not hear anything else. Decided to use an EBay Chatbot to explain and got someone helpful there saying to contact the seller now as they could not go back on the refund. I did this immediately - heard nothing. Sent another message to them via EBay and not sure I will hear back. Yes, I could keep the things for free but I am an honest person and wish to now pay for them. I have another pair of slipper boots on the way from another seller, so now stuck with 2 lots! What would anyone else do? Sorry about the length of the post.
Anyone else had problems with EBay sellers? on 15:58 - Dec 11 with 3392 views | bluelagos | I wouldn't worry about it. The stress it's causing you is completely disproportionate to the value of a pair of shoes. If you still feel bad, donate the cost to a charity. But that's just me.

Yes, this kind of happened with a present my husband has bought me off Discogs. The seller there was so upset that his VG+ copy of a record's sleeve was slightly bend after wrapping it and let my husband have it free of charge! That was not really needed but what a wonderful seller! Husband donated the money to Guide Dogs for the Blind for me, which they were extremely grateful for. So will consider it. Will give it another month to see if they respond, then the charity can have it.

Anyone else had problems with EBay sellers? on 16:08 - Dec 11 with 3334 views | jeera | That sounds like a bit of a nightmare. Some time ago I had a card telling me if I left a review on some item (Amazon) I could claim such and such item free. It was claiming to be an Amazon promotion. I emailed the firm to clarify and got a response from China telling me I had to purchase the product but the full price would reducted at Checkout. This I did not do. I contacted Amazon who seemed to know nothing about this 'promotion'. Hmm. I bought a phone last year from China via ebay that never arrived but was showing up as being held by customs. I eventually got a refund after a bit of moaning and to-ing and fro-ing with Ebay. I do sometimes wonder what ever happened to that phone.

That is terrible. I am glad you enquired about the authenticity of that promotion. I have tried not to get anything made in China for a good 18 months now, due to the poorly made stuff and other reasons. I know its impossible to avoid a lot of times, but I try.
Anyone else had problems with EBay sellers? on 16:21 - Dec 11 with 3287 views | Radlett_blue | I've generally had good experiences on eBay, but the odd shocker. Bought one item and it didn't arrive. Contacted eBay & got a refund & the seller's account was shut down. eBay generally don't want the hassle of arbitrating disputes between sellers & buyers, but they will usually deal with an obvious rogue seller.

So many chancers on there, it's not a great place but a necessary evil at times. Friend sold a Samsung phone for a couple of hundred quid, they complained it was fake, eBay told them to return it and charged my mate the postage - that phone was fake, but obviously wasn't the one they'd sent.

Anyone else had problems with EBay sellers? on 17:29 - Dec 11 with 3129 views | Chondzoresk | I buy a fair amount on eBay. I buy and sell antiques. Some purchases are over £500 and only one real issue in 10 years. It was a Georgian miniature I bought for £100. It never appeared. I complained and complained.....eventually I got my £100 plus postage back......but, a month later the miniature turned up out of the blue. Like a good citizen, I contacted the seller offering to pay for it or send it back.......no response...that was 4 or so years ago....even with eBay getting involved I got no response from the seller. To this day, it hangs on my wall. That’s where it will stay.

Wow - so maybe I will never get asked for the money. I will give it a month and then donate it to Guide Dogs. Sod's law, then I will get an email asking for the money!!
Anyone else had problems with EBay sellers? on 18:53 - Dec 11 with 2988 views | WicklowBlue | Bought lots of things off eBay over the years and only one bad experience where the seller messed around and never sent the item. I raised a dispute with eBay (who always takes the buyers side) and talked to them via chat and I was refunded the cost. I would recommend contacting eBay via chat in future they were really helpful.
Anyone else had problems with EBay sellers? on 14:38 - Dec 20 with 2613 views | jeera | Just to add to this: I ordered some damp proof paint via Ebay last week and it didn't show, contacted the firm twice and received no response, so did the form thing to Ebay. They asked for the usual 3 days or so [extra] patience and as promised emailed me to ask how it was going. that was late Friday night/am Saturday. When I replied I'd still heard nothing they refunded me immediately. Have to say, the refund was within half hour of their first email. No messing.

I made the mistake of sending coins to a buyer by unregistered post & lo & behold, they didn't arrive, probably swiped by a light fingered Post Office worker.

Generally, I think that's far more prevalent & it has happened to me a couple of times. However, I think coins are easy for someone to identify when handling a package.

Anyone else had problems with EBay sellers? on 11:24 - Dec 21 with 2230 views | HARRY10 | Keep the boots, then either sell - sell them on facebook marketplace and stick the money in a card and post it through some deserving souls letterbox - a direct benefit or like wise wrap them up as a gift and again anonymously give to someone who could benefit I have had the odd bad experience - and guess what, it was either Yodel or Hermes, I now check first to see if it is Royal Mail, if not ps both of the above two I have done more than once

Yes, I decided I would give my Mum in law the original boots, free of charge as that seller still has not responded. The other pair I ordered from another seller turned up on time - but a size too big!! Thankfully they are MY size, so will keep those for me and give Mum in law another unworn pair of slipper boots in her size that I have had in my wardrobe a couple of years! I don;t really get through slippers too quickly!!

There is that side of the coin, and maybe Ebay should have a system where sellers can see 'undelivered' items so they can decide if the sale carries risk. The unfortunate thing is too many on both sides regard the cost of postage as something that should be the lowest possible - so you end up getting what you pay for. As said, I have never had a problem with Royal Mail

I would have done in normal circumstances but have been going out very little this year due to covid, and only going to the essential shops. We have sod all shoe shops in Ipswich anyhow, and the new Deichmann one has only opened up recently and was packed when I walked past.

Anyone else had problems with EBay sellers? on 14:10 - Dec 21 with 2083 views | RedWhiteAndBLUE | It sounds like the problem is Hermes delivery more than anything else. I've had so many problems with them I now refuse to buy anything from companies that use them. It's really not worth stressing about (not easy I know with anxiety), and as someone else said you should donate the extra money to charity. Happy Christmas!

You have bought another pair, though? So if you try to return the slippers but get no response, take the slippers to the Guide Dogs charity shop. If you donate the refund you will be the price of the slippers down (having paid twice for slippers) and have a pair of unwanted slippers.

Yes I bought them when thought these others were not coming. It was from a different seller, who sent them in a week. I am keeping them for myself. They are a bit big but I wear them with thick socks so they will be fine. We have no Guide Dogs shop in Ipswich, so have donated to them online.
