With Hawkins out for majority of the season, who else in the market is there to bring in?

Would need to be someone aged under 21 and presumably available on loan given the salary cap situation. As ST said this morning, seems less likely to happen, particularly with Norwood and Jackson having minimal niggles rather than significant injuries.

The one player that no-one has mentioned, in terms of an injury update, for aaaaaaaaaaaages is Ben Morris.

Hasn't he been out for almost a year now?

Any news? He was just looking likely to break into the first team squad when he got injured too!

RIP Sir Bobby

Will be out for the season, I think. Gutting for him, particularly as he's out of contract in the summer and will count as an over-21.

Charlie Brown might have been a good option.

If Hawkins is out for the season, presumably we should leave him out of our squad and that leaves room for some other wages - maybe a loan signing? Or doesn't it work like that?

Yes, you can do that, however, they're thinking six weeks as it stands.

Is that 6 weeks until he is match fit or 6 weeks until he ‘back on the grass’?

I'm assuming available again but Stuart Taylor didn't specify. They may not know precisely until he has had his operation.

Armand Gnanduillet. Free agent and scored more goals than any of our strikers did last season for Blackpool.

That is part of the problem, they never will do.

If we could get a good quality loan in that was definitely available to play now, it would be a no-brainer for me. Hawkins is hardly a key first team player and even if he recovers on schedule, he would need time to get back to speed. There's also are the chance that the season will have been cancelled by then too. We need a striker who can score now not one who looks unlikely to possibly at some point for the last up to 8 matches.

That also depends on being able to get a suitable player in on the same wages as Hawkins, though. Maybe better still would be an U21 with very good potential who wouldn't need their wages to be taken into account. It is crazy that with a squad of 50+ players we are still short in certain areas.

Decent striker but issue is he won’t be fit. We need a striker to come in now and hit the ground running. Best option would be a loan probably

We're not that short in that area bearing in mind we use one striker and have three without Hawkins.

Has to be Ched Evans, surely? His name hasn’t been mentioned on here for at least two-weeks...
