What do you see as a front 2 out of interest

4 4 2 on 17:49 - Mar 27 with 1004 views | haynes_toe1 | 4 4 2 isn't some magical formula to make us score goals. However under Cook we have somehow managed to become even less creative and I've seen nothing to suggest he is capable of changing that.

Two strikers up against the two centre halfs - that wasn't the case in the first half.

Less creative... weve barely created anything all season. Its not new to us.

Yes it was. Sears dropped deeper in partnership with Norwood. That was a 4 4 2.

Ah that is where you are going wrong, first half was 4 4 2 with only one up front, you are thinking of 4 4 2 with two up front.
4 4 2 on 17:54 - Mar 27 with 949 views | BloomBlue | All of Cook's success has came with playing 1 up front, I don't see him changing that.

Agree to disagree - In my view Sears didn't drop deep, he started deeper. You want the three behind Norwood to get ahead of him & get involved. Also Sears and Judge swapped positions a few times during the first half, that just doesn't happen in a 442.

Sorry, obviously getting confused. One up front means 442 now. Got it.

That's what the clever coaches do, they play 4 4 2 with one up front. [Post edited 27 Mar 2021 18:00]

It can happen. It's a support striker in a 4 4 2 Theres many different versions of a 4 4 2 first half we had 1 version. 2nd half we had another. The biggest issue again with this... which ever way you go... we had 0 wing play.

Yeah so it's concerning we've been even less so and averaged less goals since Cook has come in, considering what a poor point we were starting from.

Not really A few handful of games at the front end of the season makes up a good % of our goals scored. Realistically since November we have offered nothing going forwards

That is simply untrue. We played more in the opposition half today. We made a few nice creative moves which didn't get finished. It was not good enough, but this is going to take time. There was more attacking intent than in many Lambert games. TIIIMMMEEEEE

We had 0 wing play because we started the game with 0 wingers.

The pain is exactly what paul says it is... players waiting for someone else to do something. When wigan got in our area the went for goal. When we get close we look lost and end up facing our own goal.

I’m sorry, but Edwards is not a winger and never has been. Can’t beat a man, can’t get to the byline, can’t cross. He’s a very average right midfielder, a sort of crap Paul Anderson.
