GC20 have bought the Portman Road land from the Council?

"O'Leary was just asked by Stuart Watson what Gamechanger have actually acquired following their purchase.

We know the club own the stadium buildings but the council the land. GC20 have bought the land.

He confirms Marcus Evans has retained a small part of the training ground."

I just read that as well, have tweeted Andy Warren to ask for confirmation. Pretty big news if true!

There are no searches in place over any of the stadium land, freehold or leasehold. I don’t believe the council would wish to sell it either.

Maybe referring to the training ground land and lost in translation?

Muncher has spoken.
His cred is good so I believe there's no truth to this.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

It would be peak ITFC 21st Century for them to think they've bought the land at PR when they've actually bought the training ground. I can't imagine (hope!) they'd be that daft though. And as Muncher says, the lack of land registry searches shows there's been no intent there.

PR is also an Asset of Community Value which places some restrictions in any sale, can’t be done without notice and allowing community a chance to buy it I think.

No, they haven't bought the land, just the buildings. Land on a lease to 2094.

Yep. Warren typed it up wrong on the EADT's minute by minute presser feed and it caught us out.
