I'm not surprised either. The point being is they are moving to clubs in a lower position than ourselves yet 4 of those you mention were big parts of our first 11 this season.

We were told repeatedly that all of these made up the strongest squad in the league except non of our released players can even maintain their league level.
Chambo even thought he was worthy of another contract.
My big worry at the moment, is that even though most of our players have been told they can move on, seemingly, the only interest so far is in Dozzell. And if we don't move players out, that could really impact what Cook is trying to do here.
My point was, if this really is the best squad in the league, you'd think we would be knee deep in offers, or at the very least, rumours.

If it's true that Edwards thought it worthwhile even to have talks with Colchester before eventually signing for Wigan, (who presumably will pay the same kind of wages as Town), it suggests that Colchester are prepared to pay some players quite a bit. Colchester have offloaded seven of their top eight highest earners, (Gerken being the exception.) But I'd guess generally Chambers and any other older players will be halfway down the Colchester pay-scale (again, Gerken is the exception), with any bigger salaries spent attracting players with potential sell-on value. | | | |

I thought that was such a bizarre statement to make given we had just been relegated with a rapidly declining squad, whilst underestimating this league and showing a lack of respect to it and the teams in it.
I know it was a little tongue in cheek, but beneath that there was genuine thought that we would get 100 points and 100 goals, which given the previous 3 seasons, we would be nowhere near achieving those numbers. |  |

In our first 11 games, playing a pretty basic 442, we ended up with 27 points from 11 games which is an incredible record.
But Lambert just started chopping and changing and it got us nowhere.
