Wonder how different those few years may have been had Holloway been hired

I doubt Holloway would have lasted as long as McCarthy, perhaps not even being able to avoid relegation in 2013, let alone making the play-offs two seasons later.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

we'd have got relegated sooner, and evans would have sold up 3 or 4 years ago

....we'd have been relegated immediately.

We would have been relegated, wouldn’t have made the play-offs and would have ended up with Lambert a few years earlier and would be gearing up for our season opener with Kesgrave shortly.

He is an interesting character and, having had to deal with the Oystons for three and a half years it could be that his personality could have been the one to prise the essential transfer monies from Evans chastened grasp that would have made the difference in potential promotion campaigns.

Reading through his Wikipedia page is revealing, if I had known that he had two daughters who had been born deaf (a condition I know a little about) I had forgotten - being habituated to dealing to people who just cannot hear you is possibly useful when it comes to communicating with players too...

I like Holloway, but I dont think he would have been as successful as Mick was here.

If you think the last few years have been bad, add Holloway into the mix and realise things could have been a whole lot worse!

Nah. We'd have been relegated again by now.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Massively over-rated manager who’s eked out a living off the back of a couple of decent seasons with Blackpool and some funny quotes for the journos.

Even Shambert and Jewellout had longer good spells in management than Holloway.

I liked Holloway tbh. But his personality would have got nothing out of Evans. Like trying to open a giant clam with a cocktail stick. I think he would have done better than the dross that wasKeane, Jewell, Lambert and Hurst - but we’d have been relegated sooner.

I’m not MMs biggest fan, but given how Evans was draining the life out of the club, I have to admit his gravity defying efforts were remarkable.
