Am I right in thinking it's legal to drive/ride a vehicle to the MOT center for a booked MOT test?

Is in the future. The MOT center is booked up and can only get my bike in after the MOT has run out...
So I can either put it on a trailer, so thinking I can ride it to the center - but that is high risk if it fails.
Or leave it with them ahead of the MOT running out and pick it up.
This is 6 weeks ahead - fck knows why they are so busy. | |

You can only ride it to the MOT centre. I don't think there are MOT centers in the USA, but there might be.

If it fails you cannot ride it home, you either leave it there to be repaired or collect it on a trailer.
Pretty sure same applies even if the vehicle has a current MOT. It is an offence to drive an unroadworthy vehicle even if it has a valid MOT. |  |

That was off the Gov website someone linked. So can't see why you can't legally ride it home assuming you are going to do the repairs there.

Driving a vehicle that’s failed
You can take your vehicle away if:
your current MOT certificate is still valid
no ‘dangerous’ problems were listed in the MOT
Otherwise, you’ll need to get it repaired before you can drive.
If you can take your vehicle away, it must still meet the minimum standards of roadworthiness at all times.
You can be fined up to £2,500, be banned from driving and get 3 penalty points for driving a vehicle that has failed its MOT because of a ‘dangerous’ problem. | |
