I joined the chatroom for Saturdays game against Morecombe for the first time and it will be my last! While there were some decent people in there trying to keep each other informed about the game and generally talking Town the majority were a cesspit of ignorance and missinformed idiots that ruined it!
I then had a look at the hashtag #ITFC on Twitter and some of the bile being spewed by our "fans" is illinformed, spiteful claptrap.
There wasa time when Ipswich Fans were known for their informed respectful banter.
The mantra says that a country gets the government it desereves lets hope a football club doesnt get the fans it deserves! |  |

Club has some fans who are bellends shock.
If you go looking for the lowest common denominator comments, then that's what you'll find. Plenty of decent comment around but some fans are idiots and that goes for every club in the country. |  |

The chatroom can be plagued by numpties at times and as a result very tedious. The ‘Ignore’ button is your best friend! Apart from Radio Suffolk it’s still the best way of tracking the game in real time. |  |

I think it´s a very small chunk, probably young (?) crop of "fans" with really limited interest and/or knowledge of football. Most clubs have them.
I can see why some fans reacts to some of the drivel made up by fans of Pompey, "Chequebook FC" etc when the reality is that while we have recruited players, we have also let go of 25-30 players and got decent money for a few of them.
I try to ignore the silliness, otherwise I get frustrated or angry, and there are more important things in life. Like ITFC winning football matches. [Post edited 10 Aug 2021 7:53]

There are morons in all walks of life, some people just find enjoyment in winding others up or causing misery for others.

Completely agree, it was embarrassing at times, although as you have stated there are some good eggs in there who don’t overreact at the slightest mistake or misplaced pass. You need to look past the nonsense, it can be frustrating, but worth another go. | |

Far from me to criticise a part of this wonderful site, but the Chat Room always reminds me of drunks shouting at pigeons in the square. Less chat and more a constant stream of random shout outs. The format doesn't lead to chat in the normal sense - the forum is far better for that, although that can also be unusable on a match days with loads of duplicate the new threads. An unofficial 'official TWTD match thread' may work better, but I don't think we'd have the posting discipline to stick to it. |  |
