Hi guys, I've made the mistake of debating the vaccine with anti-vaxxers

I'm sure someone had shared graphs the other day which showed the massive drop in deaths as the vaccine kicked in

If they are actual proper anti-vaxxers rather than contrarians then I would say it's almost pointless debating with them.
They are like the flat earthers who keep redesigning their own experiment because it keeps telling them the Earth is round.

Is herd immunity even possible? Given vaccinated people can get delta (and it looks more likely they can get Omicron easier) there virus will always be circulating in decent volumes thus if you aren't jabbed you are at risk of serious illness.
Herd immunity only works when the vaccinated population can't pass on the virus and thus the chances of the unvaccinated coming across it is very small.

Would be interesting to know more about the apparent outliers near the bottom. Are they very effectively locked down or under-reporting deaths or some other explanation? |  |
