A head coach is what they want
I think this will be quite exciting and a new era

You sound surprised. The Club have been moving towards this since the Takeover - hence all the staff employed to do aspects of a manager's job. We aren't the only Club to go down the Head Coach route.

Agreed - the head coach should report to a director of football though - we don't have one of them, just Ashton.

Isn't that basically what the new bloke from Bristol (the latest one) is - Director of Football Operations or something like that?

McKenna is only an assistant coach himself, so he doesn't come with a "team" of coaches. We need a strong manager with at least a couple of trusted lieutenants.

Poll: would you rather

Yep….he’s not got experience of first team level, ran parts of our Academy set up. Probert is a good guy, was well-respected at City by Academy players and staff.

From our website Probert heads up the Club’s recruitment, Academy, analysis, U23s and loans programme. But not the first-team.

So what? He has been appointed to do that role and that is his job - we have an academy manager in Lee O'Neill

McKenna, if it is him, doesn't have experience of managing a first team

…I can only assume “Club’s recruitment “ covers first team recruitment too?

Also, is “analysis” performance analysis or recruitment analysis or both?

Bigger role for him.
