Lee Hendry. Please make him stop 21:17 - Dec 21 with 1623 views3_5_2

The constant monotone stating the obvious.

Less is more, the modern “expert” co-commentator feels need to talk constantly

With all the ex pros out there, could they not do better ?

By Christ, Danny Murphy is the expert at not shutting up when he would be better off doing so. Don't need to talk over every thing.

Murphy is tedious beyond belief. Whistles through his teeth when talking earnestly and endlessly about something too.

Certainly in the running for my pundit’s punch in the face award for being annoying.

Unfortunately it's just Sky Sports' way of keeping certain ex-pros on the straight and narrow. Lee Hendrie went bankrupt a few years ago, but god knows why Rupert Murdoch's trying to be a good samaritan.

Ultimately, it makes a mockery of those who work hard and go to university to study for sports journalism degrees etc.

Jamie Carragher - taking whining to a new level.
Jamie Redknapp - inarticulate / a bit thick

And 6.06 - used to be a great post match drive home listen, then Robbie Savage brought his own unique brand of irritation. And then Chris Sutton argued incoherently with anyone who would listen.
It was bad enough when they were on the programme separately, but who the hell decided that putting them together at the same time was a good idea?

Unlistenable!

Heard 606 for the first time in a while the other week, it really is awful. As you say it used to be relatively sensible football chat, get some opinions of other clubs fans around the country, but it just seems like very obvious sensationalism now, which I suppose is no surprise given the 2 berks presenting it.

Awful radio.

I think Danny Baker originally did 606 back in the day (90s) with Danny Kelly. If was brilliant. In fact even after he left, I still thought it good, but I heard it again a while back and like Talk Sport has become, I found it awful.

Carragher: unlistenable to. Truly dreadful
Redknapp: you are right. Thick as slurry
Dixon: Keane’s lickspittle. Vacuous
Neville: he’s really good. The best of them. Has little time for Keane’s nonsense either.
Shearer: Smug and living off his career all these years on
Lineker: earns millions. How? Tedious beyond measure.
Sutton and Savage: OMG awful
Hendrie: I know he was a pain as a professional footballer, went bankrupt etc so has a bit of fashionable ‘edge’, but he is a whining wind bag
Murphy: already condemned
Jenas: boring
Ian Wright: nice bloke, heart on sleeve - I’ve a lot of time for him.

Now one of the earliest radio pundits I remember was Denis Law in the late 70s. He was brilliant. Radio football commentary was fantastic. Peter Jones and Bryon Butler gave a real sense of the ebb and flow of the game. Commentary, not some Irish bag of gas burbling on about his pet topic of the game.

It was Danny Baker originally and it was a great listen.

David Mellor did it for a while and if I remember correctly upset a lot of Crystal Palace fans in the process.

6.06 used to be fun and interesting - a good mix of people calling for a laugh, interesting comment and the occasional entertaining idiot - now it’s a couple irritants routinely disagreeing with everything.

Can’t be as bad as Luke Hyam with his nervous, “as I say” line, which he says all the time, even when he hasn’t even said anything.

Luke’s a nice lad, leave him alone, although I admit that unusual ‘Say’ thing before every sentence is a pain.

Not coped with Carragher since he spat at that woman who got in his way. Unpleasant man.

I used to quite like Ray Houghton and I'd have a beer with Pat Nevin but there's no new Jimmy Armfields around.
