If he thinks that's the limit of what he'd get away with, then he might stop there - for now. If there's a chance of grabbing the whole country, or imposing regime change at the point of a gun, he will.
Putin is an old Cold Warrior who'd very much like things to be back how they were in 1988. Or 1888, if he can nab Finland and most of Poland as well. | |
