Downes though is showing that we should have kept hold of him. Great game tonight...apart from his usual booking. Shame he wanted away...would have flourished under KMc.

Him, and a few others.

I really can't help but wonder what might have been if him, Dozzell and Bishop, for example were fit enough to play in the same team under McKenna rather than spending the past three years of their careers injured, playing for sociopaths and the can't-be-arsed-to-coach.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

They’ll be much better under McKenna next season though

We would have kept him if he hadn’t been desperate to leave.

Yes, just imagine what it might have been like if Bishop had stayed fit.....and Downes had any interest in staying in the 3rd Division.......and Jonathan Douglas had been 21 again.....and Barry Cotter had been good. How stupid we were not to let any of those things happen.

It's March 2022 and it's astounding how people still don't get this. He wanted to leave because he's better than League One, which he is proving.

What is so difficult about this?

And playing with sociopaths who weren't interested to put in an effort.

Exactly. I'll bet if you asked someone like Sam Morsy if he wants to stay in L1 next season or go to a Championship club that showed interest in him, he'd also 'want to leave'.
