Number position on the new shirts 19:24 - Jun 25 with 2063 viewsDubtractor

Is it just me or does the number look far too low on the back?

Just looking at the pics from today and they don't look quite right!

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Space above is for the players name.

Looks like it because they haven’t got the players name on yet… I think it will probably look right once those are on.

have the players shrunk since the end of the season so that their usual size shirt looks too big?

Ah, that's obviously what makes them look 'wrong'.

No, you’re right. There is a sort of yoke on the back of the neck that means the names can’t go as high up as they usually do. It’s noticeable on Baggott’s shirt in the interview with him.

When the shirts are tucked in, part of the numbers may be in some players’ shorts.

No there’s definitely a bigger gap than usual, will still look weird even with names on I think.

Or we are signing someone either a triple barreled surname that's going to need two lines

I assume there'll be a Red Cross logo in there somewhere as the EFL's charity partner. Mind were the previous one and they had their logo on the back of shirts.

There’s obviously a bit more unused space there too… something like this, perhaps?

(Although might not help dolly, as still doesn’t say ‘where’ to get one!)

I really think it's just because they can't physically print letters over the curvy bit at the top of the neck.

Maybe, actually just spotted that the British Red Cross bit is on the numbers.

The yoke at the back of the Umbro shirts prevents the numbers or names from going there, which means that everything will be a lot further down than we are used to.

They will look a bit daft tucked in, but how many players tuck the shirts in? In reality, they are midway down and look no different to the multiple clubs who have sponsors across the top of the back so have their names and number further down. They just looked odd Saturday without the names.

Below for example they are in a similar position with a sponsor placed above them. They look fine.
