Agree. Long term presumably the owner will seek to attract other investment down the line. Fair play to him for stepping in.

I still think with the vast millions made from running TWTD Phil could have bought ITFC

If you are clever with your business model, £300M is a strong starting point at League 1 level.

Really strong fanbase, need to reduce and maintain a low wage bill.

Expect additional external investment, if not a new takeover from a wealthier owner should they be promoted.

No different to us.

Wages will no doubt be managed to circa 100% of turnover and they'll prop up the shorftall from their substantial profits.

if you are clever you wouldn't invest a significant amount of your personal wealth into a football club...

As has already been said..... it is possible to make a small fortune from owning a football club

All you need to do is start with a large fortune

Clowes has, separately, taken ownership of the stadium.

I imagine he might waive any stadium-rental/lease charges on the club for a period of time, until their other finances are healthy again. I don't know how much stadium-rental/lease costs these days but such a concession should ease the short-term situation.

I wonder how much he had to pay Mel Morris for that. My guess is nowhere near the £80M Derby's accounts said it was worth for accounting purposes.
