Is this it for harper? 21:48 - Aug 24 with 2047 views | BondiBlue | Or are we hoping he gets a lot better? Timing makes it seem a bit like that's it - he had a chance in the cup and stuffed it up so we've decided to get shot.

Is this it for harper? on 21:51 - Aug 24 with 2014 views | Nthsuffolkblue | Exeter started the season really well. If he plays regularly in this league he could develop. However, I won't hold my breath for him being back in our first team.

They've started so well that i'm surprised they've gone for him. Surely no better than they've got.

Probably nothing like our squad depth would be my guess.

Is this it for harper? on 23:14 - Aug 24 with 1810 views | BigCommon | Apart from hitting the post, late on, in our 6-0 against Doncaster last season. I can't remember seeing anything remotely decent from Harper since his arrival, tbh. He'll need to improve , somewhat, just to meet the current standard required, for a fringe player, in our Lg1 squad. Let alone if we get promoted into the Championship. Never say never, in football. But it would take some turnaround from Harper, imo, if we are to see him play in our first team again. We've probably got to take this one on the chin. When you sign 20 odd players in a window. And come up with gems like Burns, Chaplin, Fridge, Morsy, Evans, Walton, Aluko etc. Then , you can't really complain, if one or two fall short. Shame, though it is.

Needs to do a Donacien. He was pants before he was good, apparently.
Is this it for harper? on 23:41 - Aug 24 with 1739 views | Mookamoo | He is done. We will move on and there will be no space for him this time next year. Shame, there is a good footballer in there somewhere, but we won't see it.

I'm not writing him off 100%.. But we seem to be going forwards, as a club/team, at such a pace. That, imo, "You snooze, you lose", kind of scenario has materialised.. Some players just won't keep up. Whether that's through natural ability or workrate/attitude.. Like I said in the previous post. I think Harper is playing catch up just to get to current standards required. By the time he gets there, if he gets there. We may have gone up another notch. Not trying to chuck him under the bus. Just being honest, from what I've seen him do in a Town shirt. Others may disagree.. Maybe there's a few qualities that I'm not seeing in him . But Humphreys has left a better impression, for me, in his few cameo's, than Harper has. Just opinions I guess. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Because waiting and seeing leaves us with nothing to talk about.

Is this it for harper? on 07:33 - Aug 25 with 1351 views | hype313 | You have to look at the signings made, especially under McKenna in respect that they are all with a view of can they do it in the Championship, given Harper hasn't proved it League One yet, it would be some turnaround. He has the right attitude, and it would only benefit us if he had an absolute cracker of a season for Exeter, but from evidence so far, tbink he is way down the list of McKenna's. .

Is this it for harper? on 08:13 - Aug 25 with 1256 views | gordon | He's presumably on a high enough wage that he's far beyond the reach of any clubs that would actually want him to sign him permanently, so the only choice is for him to go out on loan for the remainder of his contract anyway.
Is this it for harper? on 08:38 - Aug 25 with 1222 views | PioneerBlue | Lots of players in around L1 and Championship are late developers having show early talent. Look at Donacien by way of example. Harper looks to have some obvious talent, it’s a bit raw, very inconsistent. He’s got to his age without nailing a 30-40 game season, I think. That’s what he needs to better understand his level. He is progressing, he’s got himself a season opportunity at the same level as us, it’s not as though he’s had to drop to L2 yet.

Can't see him doing anything. Edwards also needs to buck his ideas up or he will end up the same way. Surely someone can teach him to beat his man, look up and pass the ball across to an onrushing midfielder. It really is not that difficult. The WBA connection isn't looking too good so far is it . Down mark for Ashton on these two.

I've no idea what sort of clout we have in the loan market, but you'd hope that we've sent him out there with a 'starts at least x% of games' clause in the deal.

Reminds me of Liam Trotter. Arguably not given a run of games and the opportunity here, but went on to have a good but unspectacular career.
Is this it for harper? on 10:20 - Aug 25 with 984 views | jayessess | I don't think you're ever truly entirely gone whilst still under contract. If he's brilliant for Exeter, we'll look at him again, if there's an injury crisis in centre midfield we might have him back in January, if we aren't promoted and the purse strings tighten somewhat, all possible. That he's got a L1 loan at all probably shows that people see underlying ability in him, because he certainly hasn't earned that on the pitch.
