Had they just made the energy bills pledge, without the ideological trickle down bullsh1t then most people - and those markets - would probably have given them the benefit of the doubt here.

So it’s the good ole deflection technique then. Just keep talking about energy bills, which they are partly responsible for not least through flogging off utilities meaning we have to subsidise French consumers.
Let’s not talk about smashing what’s left of the economy they’ve already wrecked, through incompetence and bogus ideology, into a brick wall making all but her mates materially poorer. You, me, everyone. And it was totally unnecessary.

I’m pretty sure that the energy plan would have been sitting in her desk waiting to be signed off without any significant input from her.
The money markets don’t have any issues with that. Truss is saying she had to be decisive which is understandable but her decision to give away borrowed money to people who don’t need it shows a complete lack of judgement on her part. Hence the run on the pound.
It’s almost as if she has set her mind on doing the exact opposite of what Sunak would have done.
