The injuries are annoying of course, but none have been catastrophic. Burgess probably the worse one to be fair. But a completely unlucky injury and not anything anyone could do.

Yeah I defo agree, but if the injury gods are adamant on injuring our players i'd prefer the bench options over the starters.
We have KVY for Leigh and Keogh and Fridge for Burgess.

He's being bedded in slowly, so it's too early to make an assessment. I'd give him a 6/10 currently.
He's been getting used to how we play but when he's generally come on to replace Ladapo and his hold up play hasn't helped us keep up the top end of the pitch as well as Ladapo, that's just a reality | |

Think that's fair, if someone had said we lose 4 players to injury, for them to be Ahadme, Leigh, Aluko, Burgess rather than Morsy, Chaplin, Burns, Walton etc has to be considered as a bit of a saving grace. Ideally we wouldn't lose any of them and still can't help but feel Aluko would've had a role to play as a calming influence off the bench, but there's certainly a core of 6 or 7 that we really need to stay fit. |  |

Well thats quite the hot take.
He's played a total of 31 minutes for us so far, as you said, nowhere near enough to make any kind of assessment.

I think those two in particular are a big loss. Aluko probably isn't up to playing a whole game but he offers something as a sub which no one else offers. And when it comes to Leigh (who I think is on a par with Davis), he offers defensive solidity and physicality which I don't think any other replacement does, and which is important given that, so far as I am aware, Davis has yet to finish a game. I totally agree on Humphries for Aluko (although I am less convinced Edwards can play that same role). I just think that CH has all the skills and would be great if he was asked to play that forward ball retention role. Will be interesting to see if, with our options for people to be put on the bench becoming fewer by the week, whether we might see that happen tomorrow (as we are looking to defend our 3-1 lead) - fingers crossed…. | | | |
