It is somewhat hard to believe quite how much of a loser Musk is. A pathetic and desperate desire to be seen as funny and cool which most people grew out of once they stopped being a child.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Very good.

There are notable echoes of Brexit too, gobsh1tes enamoured with the inherent wonder of their own utterances running into reality and not liking it. This one has still happened far more quickly than anyone could have expected though.

He is an odd duck. And for someone so smart, the price tag of 44 billion never ever never ever made any sense. And makes much less sense now he’s playing/breaking it.

The world would be a much better place, other than for the employees, if Twitter went bust tomorrow.
That’s not entirely true; there are some valuable and educational “communities” on there. But the spread of the bots and the ignorant is not slowing up. Also incredible to see Middlesbrough reporting a tweet in which one of the their players was called the N-word and Twitter support taking no action.

He really does not come across as at all smart. He is another entrepreneur who had a leg up from his family and somehow convinced people he is some sort of master engineer.
It's like how people thought Steve Jobs was an engineer despite doing almost no engineering and leaving that to Steve Wozniak for the most part.
Musk comes across as a right bellend and always has (at least since he had that melt down against the caver guy, which was the first time I noticed how much of an idiot he is).
I wonder if he's thinking of following in Trump's footsteps and running for president one day? I wouldn't put it past him as he's an ego the size of the planet.

He does seem to own quite a bit of it..... unfortunately.

I believe he was born in South Africa which would stop that happening - under the current US constitution at least.

It looks like he has succumbed to incredible hubris, believed everything he touches turns to gold, and has made a $44 Billion mistake. There is, however, a possibility that he is two steps ahead in this Poker Game.
What if his long term strategy is to pss off all the liberals and get them to leave Twitter? He then delivers it back to Trump, in time for the Presidential Election season to begin.
Trump wins, Musk is his golden child. NASA's budget is slashed, federal funding goes to SpaceX.
My theory: Musk's end game is US Department of Defense contracts, hence the Utility truck looking like a Hummer, and the work on the Big Rigs being all about electric motorisation of heavyweight vehicles, ready for next gen fighting vehicles. And Starlink?

I suspect the link I posted earlier is nearer the mark - simply run it down in order to wreck it, the influence of liberals & Democrats on it + promote the GOP (the latter's already happening).

Musk is a stupid person's idea of what 'smart' looks like.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

He misled the world about his hyperloop technology just to stop California from embarking on a high-speed rail project, all so he could sell more Teslas.
He doesn't give a toss about the environment, because saving the planet would get in the way of his dream to colonise Mars.
Now he's got Starlink, which just magically went down causing a communications blackout of sorts in Ukraine.
...and then there's this - https://neuralink.com/ - which doesn't sound terrifying at all...
He seems more interested in being a Bond villain than a head of state!

I have seen some people suggest he should be considered a security threat to the US (respected people, not just randoms on social media). I don’t know enough about him to know if that’s true but at the very least he doesn’t sound like a nice bloke. Still, you don’t become that rich by being nice, so that shouldn’t surprise me.

He does seem to be stacking up a pretty dangerous hand of cards. Very hard to know his motives beyond money but that doesn't surprise me at all sadly. I can't get over how much he borrowed to finance the Twitter takeover.

$44 Billion just for that is an awful lot of money. I believe that is part of the plan, but Department of Defense contracts are the way he can make Billions back.
